Notes & Transcripts

Researchers bring a calm quiet inquisitiveness that helps people in contact with them to think things through more clearly.  Several psychology researchers have discovered quite accidentally that the people they did their research on made dramatic improvements in their personal lives in spite of the fact that the researchers were not intending to provide treatment; they were simply trying to understand the people better.  When treatment programs were eventually developed on the basis of the research, those “treated” did not improve as much as the research group.  Understanding people is more important than trying to do something to people, to “fix” them in some way.
