Introduction
recap last week and the importance of it
We need to fully understand something.
Scripture isnt just a collection of good storys
Scripture is one story
Look at genesis and revelation.
The capstones of the Bible.
One describes the end and the other the beginning.
One builds off the other.
Why is this important?
It is important to remember because of what we unveiled last week.
God never had a Plan B. God is never surprised and he had a Plan A all the way through scripture.
His plan doesnt just stop with what is in scripture, but it carries on through us as well.
This is exciting news
I want to focus on the continue plan of God in the Christmas story.
Tonight we are gonna look at the prophecies of the OT and their fulfillment in the Christmas story.
We will do more than just merely acknowledge them though.
We will discuss, why it was important then and why is it important today.
So buckle your set belt we are going back to the future
Roads??
Where we are going we dont need roads??......
Why was this important then?
- the silience was broken
- Jesus was was the god-man
- It was a clear statement of who his father was
Why is it important now?
- God has always dwelt with man/ never alone
- It paints a picture of who our father is
- Our circumstances do not dictate god’s presence
Why was this important then?
yes it was a little town/ we sing the song/ source of water
- not just fulfill prophecy of birth but that he was the source of life
- To show that he was a different kind of king
Why is this important now?
-He came to bring you life
-Where you came from isn’t near as important as where you are headed
Why was it important then?
-The arrival of the king was to be celebrated
-To express his godhood and worthiness
Why is it important now?
-Faith in jesus is to be celebrated
-He is worthy and wants all of us
