What are your existing ideas about what worship is?

Are you uncomfortable when it’s loud ?

Do you feel anxiety when it’s silent?

Let’s look at David and Solomon:

2 Samuel
2 Samuel 6:15–16 NKJV
15 So David and all the house of Israel brought up the ark of the Lord with shouting and with the sound of the trumpet. 16 Now as the ark of the Lord came into the City of David, Michal, Saul’s daughter, looked through a window and saw King David leaping and whirling before the Lord; and she despised him in her heart.
as the ark of the covenant was brought back to the place where it belonged, the King, Regal and Mighty leaped and whirled before the Lord.
2 Chronicles
2 Chronicles 5:12–14 NKJV
12 and the Levites who were the singers, all those of Asaph and Heman and Jeduthun, with their sons and their brethren, stood at the east end of the altar, clothed in white linen, having cymbals, stringed instruments and harps, and with them one hundred and twenty priests sounding with trumpets—13 indeed it came to pass, when the trumpeters and singers were as one, to make one sound to be heard in praising and thanking the Lord, and when they lifted up their voice with the trumpets and cymbals and instruments of music, and praised the Lord, saying: For He is good, For His mercy endures forever,” that the house, the house of the Lord, was filled with a cloud, 14 so that the priests could not continue ministering because of the cloud; for the glory of the Lord filled the house of God.
2 Chronicles 7:
2 Chronicles 7:1–3 NKJV
1 When Solomon had finished praying, fire came down from heaven and consumed the burnt offering and the sacrifices; and the glory of the Lord filled the temple. 2 And the priests could not enter the house of the Lord, because the glory of the Lord had filled the Lord’s house. 3 When all the children of Israel saw how the fire came down, and the glory of the Lord on the temple, they bowed their faces to the ground on the pavement, and worshiped and praised the Lord, saying: “For He is good, For His mercy endures forever.”
most of the time when the bible speaks of worship it is like this exuberant.

1. our worship needs to be more substance then style.

Habakkuk 2:20 NKJV
20 “But the Lord is in His holy temple. Let all the earth keep silence before Him.”
Habakkuk 2:19 NKJV
19 Woe to him who says to wood, ‘Awake!’ To silent stone, ‘Arise! It shall teach!’ Behold, it is overlaid with gold and silver, Yet in it there is no breath at all.
Psalm 46:10 NKJV
10 Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!
Psalms 46:10
these verses do not contradict the above verses they are there to allow us to pull some substance into our dancing and clapping and singing loud.
its not quite meditation or exuberant worship it is quiet meditation and exuberant worship.

2 Timothy 3:5 NKJV
5 having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away!
both charismatic and non charismatic worship styles can fall unto the form of Godliness denying the power there of.

2. Let’s us look at worship in heaven.

Revelation 5:11–6:1 NKJV
11 Then I looked, and I heard the voice of many angels around the throne, the living creatures, and the elders; and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands, 12 saying with a loud voice: “Worthy is the Lamb who was slain To receive power and riches and wisdom, And strength and honor and glory and blessing!” 13 And every creature which is in heaven and on the earth and under the earth and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, I heard saying: “Blessing and honor and glory and power Be to Him who sits on the throne, And to the Lamb, forever and ever!” 14 Then the four living creatures said, “Amen!” And the twenty-four elders fell down and worshiped Him who lives forever and ever. 1 Now I saw when the Lamb opened one of the seals; and I heard one of the four living creatures saying with a voice like thunder, “Come and see.”
Revelation 5:
we see them saying with a loud voice:
that means that they where participating.
Revelation 4:1–5a NKJV
1 After these things I looked, and behold, a door standing open in heaven. And the first voice which I heard was like a trumpet speaking with me, saying, “Come up here, and I will show you things which must take place after this.” 2 Immediately I was in the Spirit; and behold, a throne set in heaven, and One sat on the throne. 3 And He who sat there was like a jasper and a sardius stone in appearance; and there was a rainbow around the throne, in appearance like an emerald. 4 Around the throne were twenty-four thrones, and on the thrones I saw twenty-four elders sitting, clothed in white robes; and they had crowns of gold on their heads. 5 And from the throne proceeded lightnings, thunderings, and voices. Seven lamps of fire were burning before the throne, which are the seven Spirits of God.

the seven spirits is a way of saying “ the Holy spirit is perfect.
