Call to Worship
Psalm 47 NKJV
To the Chief Musician. A Psalm of the Sons of Korah. 1 Oh, clap your hands, all you peoples! Shout to God with the voice of triumph! 2 For the Lord Most High is awesome; He is a great King over all the earth. 3 He will subdue the peoples under us, And the nations under our feet. 4 He will choose our inheritance for us, The excellence of Jacob whom He loves. Selah 5 God has gone up with a shout, The Lord with the sound of a trumpet. 6 Sing praises to God, sing praises! Sing praises to our King, sing praises! 7 For God is the King of all the earth; Sing praises with understanding. 8 God reigns over the nations; God sits on His holy throne. 9 The princes of the people have gathered together, The people of the God of Abraham. For the shields of the earth belong to God; He is greatly exalted.
Prayer/ Offering
Deuteronomy 16:17 NKJV
17 Every man shall give as he is able, according to the blessing of the Lord your God which He has given you.
Luke 1:26–38 NKJV
26 Now in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent by God to a city of Galilee named Nazareth, 27 to a virgin betrothed to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David. The virgin’s name was Mary. 28 And having come in, the angel said to her, “Rejoice, highly favored one, the Lord is with you; blessed are you among women!” 29 But when she saw him, she was troubled at his saying, and considered what manner of greeting this was. 30 Then the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God. 31 And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bring forth a Son, and shall call His name Jesus. 32 He will be great, and will be called the Son of the Highest; and the Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David. 33 And He will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of His kingdom there will be no end.” 34 Then Mary said to the angel, “How can this be, since I do not know a man?” 35 And the angel answered and said to her, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Highest will overshadow you; therefore, also, that Holy One who is to be born will be called the Son of God. 36 Now indeed, Elizabeth your relative has also conceived a son in her old age; and this is now the sixth month for her who was called barren. 37 For with God nothing will be impossible.” 38 Then Mary said, “Behold the maidservant of the Lord! Let it be to me according to your word.” And the angel departed from her.

Focus Verse:

Luke 1:37 NKJV
37 For with God nothing will be impossible.”
2 Peter 3:9 NKJV
9 The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.

(1) God will Certainly Preform His Promise.

Jesus is born some 4000 years after Adam sinned in the Garden.
at the writing of this Gospel Isreal is under Roman rule.
this is a miserable state for Isreal to be in.
Jesus is born to a rule women in a simple town on the edge of kosher; faithfulness. when you look at Galilee , since it was surrounded by gentiles.

(2) Mary is a perfect example Submission and Service.

Luke 1:34 NKJV
34 Then Mary said to the angel, “How can this be, since I do not know a man?”
Luke 1:27 tells us that she was betrothed to be married.
Luke 1:27 NKJV
27 to a virgin betrothed to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David. The virgin’s name was Mary.
Betrothal was step one in a two step process of getting married.
The first step was a type of engagement. the husband would build a home and the wife would learn about the family (the husband).
this engagement was such that if Joseph would have died, Mary would have been considered a widow; although marital relations would not be permitted.
a pregnancy would not be ok.
it would not be ok for Joseph, his family, or Mary’s family.
Matthew 5:11–12 NKJV
11 “Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake. 12 Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.
Luke 9:23 NKJV
23 Then He said to them all, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me.

(3) Mary is a great example of faithfulness.

Luke 1:38 NKJV
38 Then Mary said, “Behold the maidservant of the Lord! Let it be to me according to your word.” And the angel departed from her.
Colossians 3:17 NKJV
17 And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.
I have been told that i preach about service a lot lately.
this is not trying to “get you to do more for the Church” this is me telling you that until I started serving others, the word didn't have its full effect on me.
you’ll never know the fulness of the christian life until you put it into action!
when you commit to regular service it stops being a theory and starts being a reality.
when you start to see the fruit of your Labor then you will want to do more and more
