Why Couldn’t We......?

I wonder if we could be transparent just for a moment, what is something that can’t coexist with the new thing that God is wanting to do in your life? Would be an offense, fear, doubt, insecurity, what things are holding you back from the new thing God is wanting to do in your life?
“It could be an offense, fear, doubt, insecurity, what things are holding you back from the new thing God is wanting to do in your life?”
Exodus 14:13-14
Exodus 14:13–14 NKJV
13 And Moses said to the people, “Do not be afraid. Stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord, which He will accomplish for you today. For the Egyptians whom you see today, you shall see again no more forever. 14 The Lord will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace.”
If I am one of the Children of Israel I am ready to see the Lord show off. I am ready to see him pound my enemy. Okay God. Let them know you are on my side.
Next Verse.
Exodus 14:15 ESV
15 The Lord said to Moses, “Why do you cry to me? Tell the people of Israel to go forward.
Exodus 14:
Fade in Why do you cry to me? This is a rebuke.
Okay Lord. Let me explain this to you. The enemy is charging after us. They want to capture us. They want to kill us. The Sea is before us.
God this is were we need you to be God and make them stop. How many times have we begged God to make the enemy stop?
Here’s the plan. Fade it Tell the people of Israel to go forward. That’s the plan?
This would really be a dumb plan, if it wasn’t for the voice that spoke it.
BUT THE VOICE DID SPEAK IT, AND LIFE IS IN THE VOICE.
Exodus 14:16 NKJV
16 But lift up your rod, and stretch out your hand over the sea and divide it. And the children of Israel shall go on dry ground through the midst of the sea.
Exodus 14:16
Take up your authority. Stretch out your hand.

Mark 9:2–5 NIV
2 After six days Jesus took Peter, James and John with him and led them up a high mountain, where they were all alone. There he was transfigured before them. 3 His clothes became dazzling white, whiter than anyone in the world could bleach them. 4 And there appeared before them Elijah and Moses, who were talking with Jesus. 5 Peter said to Jesus, “Rabbi, it is good for us to be here. Let us put up three shelters—one for you, one for Moses and one for Elijah.”

Is That the Kind of Church We Want Here At Crossroads?
Fade in each step.
Why
Mark 9:14
Mark 9:14–15 NIV
14 When they came to the other disciples, they saw a large crowd around them and the teachers of the law arguing with them. 15 As soon as all the people saw Jesus, they were overwhelmed with wonder and ran to greet him.
Arguing?
Mark 9:15 AMP
15 And immediately all the crowd, when they saw Jesus [returning from the holy mount, His face and person yet glistening], they were greatly amazed and ran up to Him [and] greeted Him.
There is someone in your eyes. There is someone living inside of you.
I wasn’t trying to do anything. I had just spent an hour and a half in worship. He showed up.
Back to Mark
Mark 9:16-17
Mark 9:16–17 NIV
16 “What are you arguing with them about?” he asked. 17 A man in the crowd answered, “Teacher, I brought you my son, who is possessed by a spirit that has robbed him of speech.
Mark 9:18 AMP
18 And wherever it lays hold of him [so as to make him its own], it dashes him down and convulses him, and he foams [at the mouth] and grinds his teeth, and he [falls into a motionless stupor and] is wasting away. And I asked Your disciples to drive it out, and they were not able [to do it].

Ouch!
How may come and go, and never experience Jesus in our midst? How may go home from church, just as sick, just as hopeless and just as lost as when they came through the doors?
Jesus Casts out the Demon Spirit, and then
Matthew 17:19 NIV
19 Then the disciples came to Jesus in private and asked, “Why couldn’t we drive it out?”
Matthew 17:
Matthew 17:19 The Message
19 When the disciples had Jesus off to themselves, they asked, “Why couldn’t we throw it out?”
Would the disciples have asked Jesus why if they had never been able to cast out devils? 50%, 25%?
Well sometimes the devil leaves, sometimes it does not. You just never know with God? No. They were operating on a 100% success rate.
What Drained them of the power.

Mark 16:15–18 NLT
15 And then he told them, “Go into all the world and preach the Good News to everyone. 16 Anyone who believes and is baptized will be saved. But anyone who refuses to believe will be condemned. 17 These miraculous signs will accompany those who believe: They will cast out demons in my name, and they will speak in new languages. 18 They will be able to handle snakes with safety, and if they drink anything poisonous, it won’t hurt them. They will be able to place their hands on the sick, and they will be healed.”
