Pastor Luke began advent by preaching from Luke 1:26-38, where the main idea was, "At Christmas we hope in the Savior who came and is coming." He said that because of the Hope of a Savior: Mary’s hope was in God’s promises (verses 26-30) and an astonishing announcement led to a risky response (verses 31-38). The angel’s astonishing announcement was that you will have God’s Son! Mary’s risky response was to do to me want God wants! Her risky response of submission showed hope in God’s plan.
