Delight in God

We began this series 5 weeks ago with a simple yet profound claim—the essence of the Christian life is delight in God. That is, our aim in life is radical happiness and satisfaction in God as our all sufficient treasure, and this is both good for us and glorifying to God. We looked at . There, Jesus speaks to the Church in Ephesus through a messenger and commends them for their theological precision, their doctrinal purity, and their apologetic zeal, while at the same time chastising them for abandoning their first love. We agreed that we are at considerable risk of falling into the same condition.
So, in a world that is actively trying to convince us of a particular vision of the good life, and one that is filled with distractions, it is good to reorient ourselves around things that are eternal and lasting, and that matter. So in this series, we have worked to remind ourselves that the knowledge of God exists to the end of delight in God.
We saw that the Word of God is more to be desired than gold, even much fine gold, and that in keeping it there is great reward ()
We saw that God the Father loves us ()
We saw that the Son is sufficient for us ()
This morning we are going to look at the person and work of the Holy Spirit
