Masaru Emoto’s Experiments on Water - and the Power of Words

Words Have Power

Masaru is a Japanese man who started freezing water in 1994 and taking photographs of the resultant crystals. He would take pictures of water normally, and then again after a prayer was said over it. He tested water by playing different kids of music to it. Classical music produced well-shaped crystals but heavy metal songs produced misshapen, irregular crystals. He taped positive and negative words on the jars of water. Words like “love” and “gratitude” produced beautiful, perfect crystals, but negative words produced no crystals or misshapen ones. He also put pictures on the jars. He used pictures of mountains and nature then pictures of negative things.

It’s important to note that 70% of our bodies consists of water, so his experiments are interesting. It demonstrates that thoughts/words/images have an effect on the state of the water molecules. It also shows that words/thoughts have an effect on physical matter, an idea also espoused by author Gregg Braden. Emoto’s work makes me stop and think twice about what I say or think, because thoughts and intentions produce an energy that affects matter, either for good or bad.

We all know that words have an enormous influence on the way we think and feel and that things generally go more smoothly when positive words are used. However, up until now, we have never been able to physically see the effect of words.

Words are very likely to have an enormous impact on the water that composes as much as seventy percent of our body, and this impact will in no small way affect our bodies

Words in the Spiritual Realm

1. Creation

3 Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.

This verse tells us the earth was created from things which are unseen - it was not made from nothing! In order to get something from the unseen to the seen - God, Himself had to speak! Divine sound-waves went forth and what God said - was! Words are sound waves and when those sound waves come from a divine source that which was invisible becomes visible - and then is maintained by the Word. Everything that we can see and touch was created and is maintained by the Word of God! Watch this!

2. Calling those things which be not as though they were . . .

This verse doesn’t negate that which is - it is simply speaking the reverse of that! Bring forth that which is unseen into the realm of the seen - by speaking! Look at other translations.

NASB: . . . Calls into being that which does not exist.

NIV: . . . Calls into being things that were not.

AMP: . . . Who gives life to the dead and speaks of the nonexistent things that (He has foretold and promised) as if they (already) existed.

3. The Word of His Power

3 Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;

Look at this verse in The Message.

The word translated upholding (sustaining) means to carry all things forward to their appointed course! To bring everything to completion. Not only did Jesus create it, He holds it up! How? By His powerful word! Don’t struggle trying to hold things together! Fix your eyes on Jesus! He is the Sustainer of all things! Ask Him to be the sustaining power in your life!

Consider this. All molecules are in constant motion - everything is moved, nothing is still. If you were to examine in a molecular sense a piece of wood (or anything else) it is made up of atoms and neutrons and protons - and everything is in motion! What holds it together? The word of His power! Jesus holds everything together! He is upholding all things by the word of His power!

Everything is a word creation . . .

Everything is here because of His words; and

Everything is upheld by His word!

Therefore, everything must submit to the word!

If everything is a Word creation; and

Then, how important are my words in my world and what impact will they have on me?

I am the product of what I have said about myself - and what others have said about me! Words have been spoken over my life - and all of these words have power! Words are containers! Words contain potential - to do harm or to do good! Wow! That’s scary! Every war that every started began with words! Every divorce began with words. Every broken relationship began with words. Many sicknesses began with words! Think about this . . .

Many are prophesying - preparing their future - with their words! Creating their future with their words saying, “I can’t do this!” “This always happens to me!” “I always catch the flu!” Or, a host of other negative things that we say! Life and death are in the power of the tongue! The words we speak are powerful. We have the choice - we can curse ourselves; or we can bless ourselves!

Too often we take possession of things that we ought not take possession of! We say, “I have diabetes!” Or, we refer to “My diabetes!” I am taking possession and my words are sealing my fate! By doing this I am creating an environment of cooperation with the work of the enemy! Satan needs our words! When we release our words, we open the door for him to come into our lives! He can only do what we will allow him to do!

Death and life are in the power of the tongue! It is my choice! If by my words I create an environment in which Satan can enter into my life - then, by my words, I can also create an environment that will shut the door! Instead of using my words in a negative sense and cursing myself - I can use my words in a positive sense and bless myself!

This concept of resisting the devil is so important that the Holy Spirit put it in the bible on at least three occasions. Here are three witnesses that we (I) are (am) to resist the devil:

My words reveal what I believe! Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks (). When the chips are down - what you really believe - what is in your heart, will come out! If you have spoken negative words or have had negative words spoken over you in the past - leave that in the past and move on in the flow of the Holy Spirit! Forgive the past and move on toward the future. That will set you free! Jesus will set you free.

Therefore, take no thought, saying! Thoughts will come - but the power is in the saying! You can have a conflict in your head - leave it there - don’t verbalize it! As long as creation remained in the mind of God, it remained invisible - but, when He spoke it came into being! The power was in His words.

As long as my conflicts remain internal - I can deal with that, I can learn to take down every stronghold and take every thought captive. However once the words are spoken, you have involved other powers. When I take possession, i.e., “my diabetes, etc.”, I have created an environment from which it is difficult for me to escape until I get my heart changed. I am fighting “diabetes, etc.,” but I will not take possession of it!

I am not the sick seeking healing! I am the healed resisting sickness!

6. The Power of the Tongue

Some sicknesses may have roots in the words others have spoken over us in the past.

The tongue can defile the whole body! Some sicknesses are the result of words. It is possible for sicknesses to come in through one door - perhaps by words spoken by others; but I keep it in my body by the words that I speak. Or, sickness can come because of my words.

7. Where Envy and Strife is

James 3:13–16 KJV 1900

13 Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him shew out of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom. 14 But if ye have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, glory not, and lie not against the truth. 15 This wisdom descendeth not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish. 16 For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work.

Words spoken in strife lead to confusion and every evil work. Words create an environment for either positive or negative! When I speak I am authorizing the spiritual world to go to work. I am either authorizing the forces of Good or the forces of demonic powers! Death and life are in the power of the tongue. We need a daily infusion of the word of God.

The word of God is quick . . .

The word quick means alive, life-giving. The Word of God is alive and powerful! More powerful than diabetes! More powerful than high-blood pressure! More powerful than high cholesterol! More powerful than damaged eyes! More powerful than deaf ears! God sent His Word and healed them (). I have to follow the prescription. Pay attention to my words, incline your ear to my sayings. Don't let them depart from your eyes, keep them in the midst of your heart. ().

8. Believe in Miracles

In other words I shall have the WORDS I say! I must believe, but belief alone will not do it!

I believe in miracles! I believe:

Words set the boundaries of my life. I will never realize anything beyond the words I speak. I will never have anything beyond my own words. I will have what I say, not what God says! Use your words on purpose!

This is the way faith works!

These are red letters! We can use faith like a tool! Faith has characteristics.

It's all the same faith - "the" measure of faith. . This is the way God does everything. This is His method of operation!

Don’t be too concerned about the context here - just take this as a word from God for me! The people shall not say, I am sick! In saying this I are not denying what is - I am proclaiming the truth! I am not denying that diabetes is in my body, I am proclaiming the truth - by His stripes I have been healed - that is truth! I am calling things that be not as though they were! That is truth! I am more than a conqueror through Christ! I walk in health and healing! Proclaim the truth of God’s word and that which is visible must submit to that which is invisible! Temporal must submit to eternal!

If the word is living in me and I am a word person - then my words should be changing my environment!

Healing is a renewal or a restoration of the body from a diseased or damaged position. He sent His Word (all of them) and healed them! Take your medicine!

Speak the word over myself! He sent His word and healed them! The temporal must submit to the eternal! Speak God’s words and the temporal must submit! These words must come from the heart that has been transformed by the Word of God! There’s more!

Proverbs 3:1–2 KJV 1900

1 My son, forget not my law; But let thine heart keep my commandments: 2 For length of days, and long life, And peace, shall they add to thee.

Keep My words! Length of days, long life and peace are the result of words! There’s more!

Proverbs 4:20–22 KJV 1900

20 My son, attend to my words; Incline thine ear unto my sayings. 21 Let them not depart from thine eyes; Keep them in the midst of thine heart. 22 For they are life unto those that find them, And health to all their flesh.

This passage shows us the method of obtaining results from the promises in God’s Word:

1. There must be the attentive ear. “Incline thine ear unto my sayings.”

2. There must be the steadfast look. “Let them not depart from thine eyes.”

3. There must be the enshrining heart. “Keep them in the midst of thine heart.”

Jeremiah 15:16 KJV 1900

16 Thy words were found, and I did eat them; and thy word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of mine heart: for I am called by thy name, O Lord God of hosts.

Thy word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of my heart! Find the words of God! Devour them! They will transform you!

29 Is not my word like as a fire? saith the Lord; and like a hammer that breaketh the rock in pieces?

Let the fire of His word cleanse me! See the word cleansing my body!

Psalm 103:1–5 KJV 1900

Benefits! Plural! God is big on plural. He's the Father of mercies, plural. When He blessed Abraham, He blessed Him with lands, herds, and flocks (all plural!) Forget not all His BENEFITS! ()

Forgives my iniquities (vs. 3)

Heals all my diseases (vs. 3)

Redeems me from destruction (vs. 4)

Crowns me with lovingkindness and tender mercies (vs. 4)

Satisfies my mouth with good things (vs. 5)

Renews my youth (vs. 5)
