God is less concerned with you coming out and more concerned with you going in—that is, into His promise. Many view the book of Exodus as a story of salvation FROM Egypt (and that thought that is true); however, salvation isn't simply the process of coming out, it is the process of going in. Removing a person from a place of torment and temptation has less of an effect than transforming the mind from being tormented or tempted. God is working to bring us into a greater relationship and fellowship with Him. Relationship and fellowship is TRUE salvation. Let's see this through the lens of Exodus.
