Never enough time in the day.
The thought of cloning yourself to get everything done!
Around the church, we can feel a little similar to this…spread too thin.
This feeling of being overwhelmed is not new to Eastwood, nor to the modern church.
Paul experienced this same feeling, just not enough time to accomplish everything.
How do we meet the demands of being an effective church?

Paul’s Two calls: Evangelism and Discipleship.
He continued to reach out to the Jews in Ephesus.
He wanted to continue encouraging the churches back home (reports and discipleship).
Paul could only be in one place at a time…why he had to keep moving!
Crazy travel itinerary.
Billy Graham’s regret....not saying No enough.
Paul was limited…miracle worker, evangelist, apologist, mentor. But he was still limited.
We are limited to what we can effectively do.
You are called to do some things, but not everything.
The Christian life is one of serving in what way you can.
Also, we must acknowledge that I cannot do it all. That we need help.

Priscilla and Aquila were left behind in Ephesus.
They found a young believer named Apollos.
They had influence on Apollos.
They were looking for opportunities to disciple another believer.
Are you looking to help other, younger believers to grow?
Apollos had potential!
Eloquent. Competent in Scriptures. Instructed in the way of the Lord. Fervent in spirit.
But, Apollos also had not reached his full potential.
Aquila and Priscilla heard his teaching and knew that he was missing some information!
They took him aside and “explained to him the way of God more accurately.”
This showed another great attribute of Apollos.
One that was key to his effective ministry: Humility.
Apollos was willing to admit that he did not know everything. He was teachable.
The dangers of an unteachable spirit…
An unteachable spirit is evidence of a deeper problem, which is pride.
v. 27 showed the effect that his humility had. It empowered him.
Dangers of contentment in our own spiritual life, or in our ministries.

Prevents us from reaching the full measure of effectiveness that God has placed in you.
Spiritual contentment prevents spiritual growth and effectiveness.

Time change leads to being exhausted… 8:45 PM Wednesday night…in bed…glorious.
How about you? Ever felt tired? Exhausted?
Paul knew he couldn’t do it all himself.
I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the growth.
How can we be co-laborers to grow the church?
He was looking for co-laborers in Kingdom work.
How can we be co-laborers to grow the church?
Rather than looking for what divides us, we need to emphasize what we have in common.
Overcome the culture of division. Emphasize partnership within the church.
God has given us exactly what we need and who we need.
We are called to cultivate relationships to create the fruit of growth.
