Healing in Redemption

Healing is a legal issue! God cannot go back on His word! This isn’t something that happens occasionally; sometimes God has compassion and heals us and other times He doesn’t! You just never know what God is going to do! Healing is not that kind of issue! The gospel message is presented to all; however, only those who respond and say yes will be saved. There are things that have been made available to us and God cannot take them back!
At the outset, we need to establish two things . . .
First, where did sickness came from;
Second, what is the legal answer to sickness.

What Does the Word Say?

Romans 5:
Romans 5:12–13 KJV 1900
12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned: 13 (For until the law sin was in the world: but sin is not imputed when there is no law.
This Scripture is clear -
by one man (Adam) sin entered into the world; death came by sin;
Death passed upon all men; because all have sinned
Death passed upon all men;
Because all have sinned
Spiritual death came immediately and physical death began to happen. With physical death comes sickness. When man fell, a curse came upon the earth and everything became perverted. Things that were meant to be a blessing turned into a curse. Watch this . . .

Before sin . . .

Genesis 1:31 KJV 1900
31 And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.

After sin . . .

After sin . . .
Genesis 3:17–19 KJV 1900
17 And unto Adam he said, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life; 18 Thorns also and thistles shall it bring forth to thee; and thou shalt eat the herb of the field; 19 In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.
Sickness is incipient death - sickness is death in its first stages! Sickness exists to cut our life short. Our mortal bodies will grow old and die - but we don’t have to die sick! Watch this . . .
Deuteronomy 34:7 KJV 1900
7 And Moses was an hundred and twenty years old when he died: his eye was not dim, nor his natural force abated.
If sin is the root - sickness is a fruit! Sickness is the physical fruit. Sickness will also be accompanied by emotional, the mental, and the spiritual fruits as well - sickness will (can) manifest all of these fruits. If you pluck out the root - what happens to the fruit?
All of these issues - physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual - were dealt with in the Redemption! In the words of Andrew - We’ve (I’ve) already got it! - I have to receive it - by faith! I received salvation by faith. The bible said I had to believe in my heart and confess with my mouth! This is really a legal transaction that give me the authority, the power and the potential to walk in complete health and fulness - physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually! All provided for in the Redemption!

What did Jesus say?

John 10:10 KJV 1900
10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

David Forsaw Redemption

Psalm 103:1–5 KJV 1900
1 Bless the Lord, O my soul: And all that is within me, bless his holy name. 2 Bless the Lord, O my soul, And forget not all his benefits: 3 Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; Who healeth all thy diseases; 4 Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; Who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies; 5 Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; So that thy youth is renewed like the eagle’s.
Psalm 103
Keith Moore notes . . .
BENEFITS! PLURAL! GOD IS BIG ON PLURAL! He's the Father of mercies, PLURAL. When He blessed Abraham, He blessed Him with lands, herds, and flocks (all plural!) Forget not all His BENEFITS! ()
Benefits! Plural! God is big on plural. He's the Father of mercies, plural. When He blessed Abraham, He blessed Him with lands, herds, and flocks (all plural!) Forget not all His BENEFITS! ()
Forgives my iniquities (vs. 3)
Heals all my diseases (vs. 3)
Redeems me from destruction (vs. 4)
Crowns me with lovingkindness and tender mercies (vs. 4)
Satisfies my mouth with good things (vs. 5)
Renews my youth (vs. 5)
David tells us to “forget not!” Kenneth Copeland says this means “to remember on purpose!” WOW! All of this in the redemption! When you deal with the root, you deal with the fruit! Sickness came in through sin! When Jesus dealt with the sin issue He also dealt with the sickness issue! ALL IN THE REDEMPTION!
God's Will to Heal
Our youth is renewed! Keith Moore noted: Sin will age us! Our bodies were not designed to handle stress! We should "cast all our care on Him." (). Faith does not worry, about money, about healing, about anything! The God of Hope will fill me with all joy and peace ().
Sin will age us! Our bodies were not designed to handle stress! We should "cast all our care on Him." (). Faith does not worry, about money, about healing, about anything! The God of Hope will fill me with all joy and peace ().
As I drive down life's road in my "faithmobile," I need to watch carefully two gauges: the JOY gauge, and the PEACE gauge! If I run out of joy and peace because I am full of worry, care, and fear, my "faithmobile" is going to sputter to a stop and leave me on the roadside of despair!
I must keep myself full of the Word and not allow worry, care, and fear invade my mind! Cast the thoughts down, throw them off! Think on thoughts of God. "My God shall supply all my needs." (). Even though my outward man is growing older, my inward man is being recharged, being renewed! () There is a benefit to living right!

Kenneth Hagin said: "I'm not going to retire, I'm going to refire!"

Isaiah Forsaw Redemption

Kenneth Hagin said: "I'm not going to retire, I'm going to refire!" Our youth is renewed
Is 53
Isaiah 53:4–5 KJV 1900
4 Surely he hath borne our griefs, And carried our sorrows: Yet we did esteem him stricken, Smitten of God, and afflicted. 5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities: The chastisement of our peace was upon him; And with his stripes we are healed.
----------
All of this deals with the whole of man - spirit, soul and body. Everything that Adam lost through sin Jesus has purchased back for us through Redemption!
Our youth is renewed
This is actually a poor translation of the Hebrew. It really should say: "Surely He has born our sicknesses (diseases) and carried our pain."
"With His stripes we are healed (Rapha)." () ==> I AM HEALED!
"With His stripes we are healed." ()
"With His stripes we were healed." () ==> I WAS HEALED!
"With His stripes we were healed." ()
Isaiah is looking to the future and something that was going to happen. Peter is looking to the past and something that has already happened.
Note what F. F. Bosworth said in “Christ the Healer.” Verse 4 says “Surely he hath borne our griefs, And carried our sorrows. The Hebrew words choli and makob have been incorrectly translated “griefs” and “sorrows.” All who have taken the time to examine the original text have found what is acknowledged everywhere. These two words mean, respectively, “sicknesses” and “pains,” everywhere else throughout the Old Testament.
Surely he hath borne our griefs, And carried our sorrows:
If we were healed, I was!
The Hebrew words choli and makob have been incorrectly translated “griefs” and “sorrows.”
If I was healed, I am!
I am healed!
All who have taken the time to examine the original text have found what is acknowledged everywhere.
These two words mean, respectively, “sicknesses” and “pains,” everywhere else throughout the Old Testament.
-------------------
I believe it in my heart and
This word choli is interpreted “disease” and “sickness” in ; ; ; ; ; ; ; and other texts.
I say it with my mouth!
The word makob is rendered “pain” in ; ; etc.
By His stripes I was healed!
Therefore the prophet is saying, in this fourth verse, “Surely he hath borne our sicknesses, and carried our pains.” See also .
By His stripes I am healed!

Borne

The word borne (nasa) means “to lift up, to bear away, to convey or to remove to a distance.” It is a Levitical word and is applied to the scapegoat that bore away the sins of the people. “The goat shall bear [nasa] upon him all their iniquities unto a land not inhabited: and he shall let go the goat in the wilderness” (). So Jesus bore my sins and sicknesses away “without the camp” to the cross. Sin and sickness have passed from me to Calvary—salvation and health have passed from Calvary to me.
If I was Healed, I am healed!
healing is mine!

Stripes

Blind eyes were (and are) healed!
The word for stripe in the OT and NT means "a wound", or "a bruise" (a "welt"). Beatings are punishment for disobedience. In the OT careful instructions were given (Deut 252-3; ; ; Proverbs 19:30). Jesus did this all for me! The bible does not say that by His blood we are healed. It says by His stripes I was healed! He did not have to do this to go to the cross! He did it for my healing! (by His stripes I am healed! ()). By His stripes I was healed (II Peter 2:24).
Deaf ears were (and are) healed!

in other translations . . .

High blood pressure was (and is) healed!
Isaiah 53:5 ESV
5 But he was pierced for our transgressions; he was crushed for our iniquities; upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace, and with his wounds we are healed.
High cholesterol was (and is) healed!
Isaiah 53:5 NLT
5 But he was pierced for our rebellion, crushed for our sins. He was beaten so we could be whole. He was whipped so we could be healed.
Diabetes was (and is) healed!
Isaiah 53:5 AMP
5 But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our guilt and iniquities; the chastisement [needful to obtain] peace and well-being for us was upon Him, and with the stripes [that wounded] Him we are healed and made whole.
Isaiah 53:5 The Message
5 But it was our sins that did that to him, that ripped and tore and crushed him—our sins! He took the punishment, and that made us whole. Through his bruises we get healed.
-----------------

Remember God’s Promise

As a believer I do not have to ask God to heal me. All I need to know, as a believer, is that healing belongs to me. (; ). I really don't need to pray for something that already belongs to me.
Exodus 15:26 KJV 1900
26 And said, If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the Lord thy God, and wilt do that which is right in his sight, and wilt give ear to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the Lord that healeth thee.
------------------
Standing on the promises of Christ my King,
I will put none of these diseases upon thee for I am the Lord that healeth thee! This is referring to physical sickness. Wow! Watch this . . .
In we are told that one of the names of Jesus is “The Lord that Healeth thee,” OR Jehovah-Rapha. The Hebrew word for “healed” in “with His stripes we are healed,” is the same Hebrew word “Rapha!”
Through eternal ages let His praises ring,
It is interesting to compare translations here . . .

This is NOT speaking of spiritual sickness! This is referring to physical sickness! With His stripes Jesus paid for my physical healing! All I have to do is ask!

Standing, standing,
John 14:13 KJV 1900
13 And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
Whatsoever I shall ask in His name, that will He do! Well, this is one of His names - Jehovah-Rapha - I am the Lord that healeth thee! This is part of my redemption through Christ!

Standing, standing,
Isaiah 53:10 KJV 1900
10 Yet it pleased the Lord to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: When thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, He shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, And the pleasure of the Lord shall prosper in his hand.
Yet it pleased the Lord to bruise him; he hath put him to grief:
I’m standing on the promises of God.
-----
It pleased the Lord? God is the righteous judge of all the earth, and He knows what is fair and what is not. He set this up from the beginning that Someone else could take my place and pay the penalty that I should have paid. Jesus took my place and He took the punishment for all sin and sicknesses. There was much more to this than just the physical beating. He became sin in my stead. God turned His face from Him. My God, My God, why hast thou forsaken me? In the Garden Jesus sweat drops of blood, in agony over what was happening in His spirit. Let this cup pass from me, nevertheless, not my will but thine be done. () It pleased the Lord - how can this be? Because He sees the end from the beginning and could see my face and He knew that His Beloved Son would be strong and would do it all and would rise from the dead and would soon be at His right hand in glory. He could see my face!! He did this for me! He took upon himself all the sicknesses that mankind would ever know and all the sins that mankind had ever, or would ever commit! (KM) WOW! :10

He put him to grief. He diseased Him. He made Him weak, sick and diseased. This is Strongs H2470 and means “to be weak, sick, afflicted!” Jesus became sin for my sin! He became sick with my sickness! He did this for me - AND - what He did satisfied God!
Standing on the promises of God.

Isaiah continues in the next verse . . .
Standing on the promises that cannot fail,
Isaiah 53:11 KJV 1900
11 He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: By his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; For he shall bear their iniquities.
God was satisfied by what Jesus did on the cross! I don’t have to satisfy God - Jesus already did that for me! speaks of the potter and the clay (Hath not the potter power over the clay, of the same lump to make one vessel unto honour, and another unto dishonour?) I am not clay, Israel was the clay! I am a born-again son of God! I am a joint-heir with Jesus Christ!
When the howling storms of doubt and fear assail,
By the living Word of God I shall prevail,

I am a new creation

2 Corinthians 5:17 KJV 1900
17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

I am created in the image of God

Genesis 1:26 KJV 1900
26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
This is who I am! I am created in the image of Jesus! God is not trying to form me and beat on me and tear me apart and put me back together again! He put me back together IN JESUS! We are now what we were before sin! We bear the image of Christ! This is why redemption had to happen - man lost his place, his image, his authority, his dominion, his purpose through sin. Jesus had to become a man in order to restore that to us. I doing that, Jesus took care of the physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual needs!
Standing on the promises of God.
God looked at what Jesus had done - and HE WAS SATISFIED! This is another nail in the coffin of sickness - I don’t have to bear it - Jesus bore it for me! He was made sickness for me! It’s a done deal! God is satisfied! I don’t have to go through sickness! Jesus dealt with it. It’s a done deal!

Matthew 8:17 KJV 1900
17 That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying, Himself took our infirmities, and bare our sicknesses.
Matthew 8:14–17 KJV 1900
14 And when Jesus was come into Peter’s house, he saw his wife’s mother laid, and sick of a fever. 15 And he touched her hand, and the fever left her: and she arose, and ministered unto them. 16 When the even was come, they brought unto him many that were possessed with devils: and he cast out the spirits with his word, and healed all that were sick: 17 That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying, Himself took our infirmities, and bare our sicknesses.
-----
Jesus is dealing with physical sickness here ! Not spiritual! Think of it in these terms . . .
Standing on the promises of Christ the Lord,
You purchase something and are given a guarantee! When it breaks, what do you do? You return it because you have a legal document that has guaranteed that it will not break! The manufacturer is providing you with a legal document that makes them legally responsible to repair it should it break! This is a picture of redemption!
Bound to Him eternally by love’s strong cord,
We have a guarantee - by His stripes you are (were) healed!
Overcoming daily with the Spirit’s sword,
This is legal - written in the blood of Jesus!
Standing on the promises of God.
Nothing should be more legal, more eternal, more alive than the blood of Jesus. So, what should happen when we get sick? We should return ourselves to the Manufacturer to be repaired! Just as the sin issue was dealt with - so, also, was the sickness issue dealt with.
-----
Was the sin issue dealt with? YES! It was dealt with on the cross! Do I still sin?
Standing on the promises I shall not fall,
Was the sickness issue dealt with? Yes! It was dealt with in Redemption! Do I still get sick?
List’ning every moment to the Spirit’s call.
What’s happening here? These issues are not automatic!
Resting in my Savior as my All in all,
How do you deal with sin? You must be born-again! How? Believe with your heart and confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and you will be saved! (). You might still sin - even though the sin issue has been dealt with! I have the potential to not sin - The Greater One lives within me! I can resist temptation; I can decide not to sin! The fact that I do sin is not God’s fault! He is not trying to teach me something through my sin!
Standing on the promises of God.
How do you deal with sickness? Exactly the same as with sin! Sickness was dealt with on the cross! I have every right to be healed - yet I allow sickness to enter my body! I can choose to tolerate it - OR - I can resist it in the name of Jesus. We have everything we need. We have the name of Jesus; we have the Holy Spirit; we have the Word; we have the covenant; we have the armour provided by God. We have everything we need! We are fully equipped. Unfortunately, we often wait for God to do something - when, in reality, He has already done it. The potential for healing is within us! Healing is here! Healing is now! Healing is within us!
What did David see? Sin forgiven; sicknesses healed! (Psalm 103:1-5)
What did Isaiah see? Sin dealt with; sicknesses dealt with! (; ; 12)
1 Peter 2:24 KJV 1900
24 Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.
1 Peter 2:24 KJV 1900
24 Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.
Ye were healed. Kenneth Hagin noted: “God already has done all He is ever going to do about providing healing for me: God laid my sicknesses and diseases on Jesus, and Jesus bore them. IN THE MIND OF GOD I AM ALREADY HEALED! It is up to me to receive healing. Healing belongs to me.
ye were healed.
God already has done all He is ever going to do about providing healing for me: God laid my sicknesses and diseases on Jesus, and Jesus bore them. In the mind of God I am already healed! It is up to me to receive healing. Healing belongs to me.
The word translated healed in this verse is from the Greek “iaomai” which means to cause something to change to an earlier, correct, or appropriate state. This word appears 28 times in the NT - of these 28 appearances, 26 refer specifically to physical healing - and in the other two cases, it is implied. This is referring to a physical healing, not a spiritual healing!
When sin is dealt with, sickness is dealt with also - at the same time! This is contrary to what the church teaches today! I have the authority - IN CHRIST - to be free from all of the afflictions He carried on the cross!
W

Three (of 28) Examples of ἰάομαι (iaŏmai, ee-ah´-om-ahee)

Matthew 8:8 KJV 1900
8 The centurion answered and said, Lord, I am not worthy that thou shouldest come under my roof: but speak the word only, and my servant shall be healed.
Matthew 8:8
ἰάομαι iaŏmai, ee-ah´-om-ahee
Matthew 15:28 KJV 1900
28 Then Jesus answered and said unto her, O woman, great is thy faith: be it unto thee even as thou wilt. And her daughter was made whole from that very hour.
Luke 6:19 KJV 1900
19 And the whole multitude sought to touch him: for there went virtue out of him, and healed them all.
These verses, along with the 25 others, refer to physical healing - not spiritual. Don’t let Satan steal this from you! On the cross Jesus bore my sins AND He bore my sicknesses! If the ROOT has been dealt with the FRUIT has been dealt with!
I have every legal right to use my guarantee! I have every legal right to kill the snake! Sickness is a snake and not a blessing!
