Good Morning -
Over the last few weeks we have discussed
The Holy Spirit as the Spirit of Life
That you have the same holy Spirit in you as Jesus did
How we need to raise our sails and catch the wind of the Spirit
And last week Todd spoke on the Joy of the Holy Spirit.
As we continue our series on the Spirit, I want to remind you that all of our sermons are available to watch or listen to on our website -osagelifechurch.com.

Left out -
Were you ever left out or picked last?
Ever felt like you were rejected and an outsider?
Maybe you have felt like you were ignored because of your gender, color of your skin, economic status, or maybe your last name, caused people to reject or ignore you.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I know I have!
When I was 8 I had to transfer from a Christian school that was operated by my church to the public school.
All my friends were at BCA
First day of school beat up by Billy Cassady and Brian Scott.
First week - picked over in kickball at recess.
First year - No friends and bullied.
I was an outsider and was overlooked or ignored my of my school life.
There were a lot of times during recess I never had the opportunity to PLAY!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Maybe you have experienced this even in the Church world.
My mother and her Spiritual gifts were ignored and rejected for sometime because she was a single mom.
My mother experienced rejection because she was a single mom.
I have seen powerful women of God ignored because they were women.
Elderly people ignored because of their age
Young people ignored because of their age.
I have seen some rough around the edges Christians ignored because they did not fit the excepted pattern.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
If you have ever felt ignored or rejected today I want you to know one thing.

In the Spirit Everyone Gets to Play!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In a time where genealogy, pedigree and education was everything, Jesus set a new model.

Luke 10:1–3 ESV
After this the Lord appointed seventy-two others and sent them on ahead of him, two by two, into every town and place where he himself was about to go. And he said to them, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest. Go your way; behold, I am sending you out as lambs in the midst of wolves.
Luke 10:1-
Jesus is sending out novices to proclaim the Gospel.
He is picking ordinary people to go and do extraordinary ministry in His name.
How do I know these were ordinary people? Checkout their response when they come back.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Luke 10:17 ESV
The seventy-two returned with joy, saying, “Lord, even the demons are subject to us in your name!”
Luke 10:
Imagine what that must have felt like to these 72.
They weren’t being left out of God’s Kingdom because of their name, age, color, income status or pedigree.
These ordinary men were invited by Jesus and empowered by the Spirit to JOIN IN AND PLAY!
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This same joy and sense of AWE must of been the experience for many at the birth of the Church in .

Acts 2:1–8 ESV
When the day of Pentecost arrived, they were all together in one place. And suddenly there came from heaven a sound like a mighty rushing wind, and it filled the entire house where they were sitting. And divided tongues as of fire appeared to them and rested on each one of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance. Now there were dwelling in Jerusalem Jews, devout men from every nation under heaven. And at this sound the multitude came together, and they were bewildered, because each one was hearing them speak in his own language. And they were amazed and astonished, saying, “Are not all these who are speaking Galileans? And how is it that we hear, each of us in his own native language?
Are not all these we are hearing Galileans?
In other words - Uneducated people from the wrong side of the tracks.
God births the Church with men and women from the wrong side of the tracks!

You See in the Spirit Everyone Gets To Play.

Now this is where it gets really good.

Go Home - No place for women in the pulpit.
Her response was beautiful -
“I did not surrender to a calling of man when I was 18 years old. I surrendered to a calling of God. It never occurs to me for a second to not fulfill it. I will follow Jesus - and Jesus alone - all the way home. And I will see His beautiful face and proclaim, Worthy is the Lamb!
Here’s the beautiful thing about it & I mean this with absolute respect. You don’t have to let me serve you. That gets to be your choice. Whether or not I serve Jesus is not up to you. Whether I serve you certainly is. One way or the other, I esteem you as my sibling in Christ.”
