David was not the kind of guy that was seen as a king.
when the prophet came to anoint a king from Jesse’s sons David was left in the feild.
when he obeyed his father and went to check his brother for his father, his brother asked him with whom did you leave those few sheep of your Fathers with?
(a) David had to decide to cooperate with God.
there is a lot of fear in change:
will I be enough ?
what if I fail ?
what if I hurt or disappoint someone.
I’m Just scared.
(b) Often the problem here is I put my self in the center of the equation instead of God.
God used David to Bring the promise land together.
God used David to deliver Israel from her enemies.
God used David to write Psalms.
I’m Just scared.

(2) Johnathan was Davids Finishing School.
Like we said earlier I don't think David went into this transition thinking “ I got this!” like you and I, he probably had a few reservations.
some of them might have been:
my own family didn't trust me with anything other than sheep.
Just now when I stepped up; my own brother ridiculed me.
David was comfortable with a harp and a rod and a staff and a sling shot, does not mean that he is prepared to be king.
David has been anointed king, but he has been appointed.
How dose one move from being anointed to Appointed ?
submission to the equipping process.
Jonathan was raised as a prince so that he could equip David.
this says a lot about the character of Johnathan, he is teaching David the skills to do the job he was born for.
Jonathan knows that he is serving God not being pushed aside.
Don’t let pride keep you from your transformation!
(3) what has to change?
Everything!
change is hard
change is scary
change takes time
change empowers
the Holy Spirit transforms
my hearts desire is that you lean into the necessary changes for you to fulfill the purposes that God has for you.
The Holy Spirit will help you to lean into the change.
