The Nature of the Bible
Why is the Bible so important to the Christian faith?
It is essentially the Word of God.
What do we mean by the phrase “word of God”?
It means the words that were “spoken” by God which were later transcribed by the authors of the books.
It means the message, the thought, the ideas contained in the written Scripture
many words in the Bible were actually spoken by men, angels, even demons.
But the thoughts and ideas behind the story is essentially the Word of God.
Why is the Bible the Word of God?
Because it contains the thoughts, the message of God.
Because it reveals to man what was in God’s mind and heart.
