// LONG QUESTIONS

Is cussing bad?

James 3:6–10 ESV
6 And the tongue is a fire, a world of unrighteousness. The tongue is set among our members, staining the whole body, setting on fire the entire course of life, and set on fire by hell. 7 For every kind of beast and bird, of reptile and sea creature, can be tamed and has been tamed by mankind, 8 but no human being can tame the tongue. It is a restless evil, full of deadly poison. 9 With it we bless our Lord and Father, and with it we curse people who are made in the likeness of God. 10 From the same mouth come blessing and cursing. My brothers, these things ought not to be so.
Ephesians 4:29 ESV
29 Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear.
2 Timothy 2:16 ESV
16 But avoid irreverent babble, for it will lead people into more and more ungodliness,
2 Tim

Proverbs 18:21 ESV

in general there is nothing wrong with music that is separate from religion
Does it promote an ungodly message?
sex outside of marriage

degrading women or men
things of the same category
Romans 12:2 ESV
2 Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.
1 John 2:15–17 ESV
15 Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16 For all that is in the world—the desires of the flesh and the desires of the eyes and pride of life—is not from the Father but is from the world. 17 And the world is passing away along with its desires, but whoever does the will of God abides forever.
What does your support of this music say to unbelievers?
Philippians 2:15 ESV
15 that you may be blameless and innocent, children of God without blemish in the midst of a crooked and twisted generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world,
How can your light shine or be different than the world if we look just like the world?
Is this music hindering your spiritual growth?
Hebrews 12:1–2 ESV
1 Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, 2 looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.
Is me listening to all this music causing other Christians to stumble?
1 Corinthians 8:13 ESV
13 Therefore, if food makes my brother stumble, I will never eat meat, lest I make my brother stumble.
What is your spirit telling you about this music?
James 4:17 ESV
17 So whoever knows the right thing to do and fails to do it, for him it is sin.
ultimately you have to trust that the Holy Spirit inside of you will give you discernment on the health benefits of the media that you intake
What goes in will ultimately come out

How was God born?

God wasn't born, He was simply revealed to us.
We live in constraints, and therefore can't understand God that lives without constraints.
Psalm 90:2 ESV
2 Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever you had formed the earth and the world, from everlasting to everlasting you are God.
Isaiah 40:28 ESV
28 Have you not known? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He does not faint or grow weary; his understanding is unsearchable.
Hebrews 13:8 ESV
8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.
John 3:16 ESV

How do you trust/believe in God?

Belief: is a thought
Trust: is a firm belief
simply believing is not enough, there’s still room for doubt - even the demons believe
James 2:19 ESV
19 You believe that God is one; you do well. Even the demons believe—and shudder!
trust means that you are going to abandon your doubts and fully rely on someone or something
Help My Unbelief
Mark 9:24 ESV
24 Immediately the father of the child cried out and said, “I believe; help my unbelief!”
The man’s trust in God is what allowed him to realize his belief wasn’t enough.
He recognized he needed to fully trust God to heal his son - so he asks, Lord make it happen, I don’t need to know how it works anymore, I just want my son healed
sometimes we dont get to know how it all works, we have to let our faith/trust in God be enough

When witnessing to a stranger, friend, etc., what are some of the most important things to tell them? I feel like I might either say too little or too much, and I don't want it to come out wrong.

Being a Christian is about being a “Christ-follower” and in order to follow someone or something, there needs to be a relationship there - its not a one-time event
Jesus told us to do 3 things...
Matthew 28:19–20 ESV
19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
go and make disciples of all nations
baptize them in the name of the Father, Son, Holy Spirit
teach** them to observe all Jesus’ commands
This is an on-going process! So if you don’t say the right things, it will be okay because this should be an on-going process and relationship!

Romans Road to Salvation

All have sinned and are separated from God -
The penalty for sinners is death -
God still loved us, and wants relationship with us -
We have to choose to accept this redemption through Jesus -
We know that we are saved from death -

How do I get over the fear of talking to someone you care about/fear of being hurt/fear people leaving, fear of finding flaws in someone?

Killing Kryptonite Video
we are all messy people - there will be flaws in all of us
fear is involved but you need to make sure you put your fear in the right place
instead of being afraid of your friends response and rejection, you should be afraid that your friend might end up in Hell or a destructive situation because you were afraid
ask yourself - do you love your friend more or yourself more?
Truth in Love
Truth = state the facts, use the Bible as the standard
Love = kindness, patients,
1 Corinthians 13:4–7 ESV
4 Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant 5 or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; 6 it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. 7 Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
