Nehemiah 6:3
We lead busy lives, at least we say we do.
Yet we seem to have time to do those things we truly want to do.
Like argue, gossip, judge others.
Nehemiah was focused on the will of God.
He determined to do what the Lord wanted him to do.
He was not about to be distracted.
His enemies wanted to distract him, in order to destroy or hinder the work he was doing.
They came as so-called friends, but their intentions were evil.
Nehemiah’s focus shows us that when we are busy about the Lord’s work we are going to be too busy for foolishness:
I.       Too busy to argue
§  When you are active in church, you won’t be sitting around arguing about everything.
That activity belongs to those with no intention of solving problems, only trying to prevent progress.
II.
Too busy to gossip
§  *1 Timothy 5:13* And besides they learn /to be /idle, wandering about from house to house, and not only idle but also gossips and busybodies, saying things which they ought not.
III.
Too busy to judge
§  *Romans 14:10* But why do you judge your brother?
Or why do you show contempt for your brother?
For we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ.
IV.
Too busy to come down
§  You won’t find yourself getting in the wrong crowd when you stay focused on building the kingdom.
It is time among our people that church activities become vital once again to our lives.
§  We need to each take our place on the wall.
Then we need to busy ourselves about the work.
§  This does not mean we are at the church house 24~/7, far from it.
But it does mean we place a priority once again on church life.
