I.       The Depth of God’s Love (7:6)

The Rationale for God’s Love (7:7-8)
A.     We are not loved because of our strengths (7)
§  Some who continually diet because they are afraid of losing the love of another.
§  Some who submit sexually though not enjoyably because they are afraid of being unloved.
B.     He loves us just because we are His (8)
§  There is no rational reason God loves us – He loves us just because.
§  And with that love is a commitment to fulfill an oath.
§  Because God loves He rescues – not because they were the prize catch.
III.
Get to Know to One Who Loves You (9-10)
A.     God is a God who loves you (9).
§  1 John 4:7 /Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. 8 He who does not love does not know God, for God is love./
B.     God keeps His commitment to you (9).
§  He keeps His love close to those who love Him and live for Him.
§  John 15:9 /"As the Father loved Me, I also have loved you; abide in My love. 10 "If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love, just as I have kept My Father's commandments and abide in His love./
C.     God will never compromise His integrity (10-11)
§  To those who have rejected Him, He will bring judgment to their face – to each one individually.
§  Our Response to God’s Love (11) - Keep the covenant we share with Him.
