I'll share a little bit of my own Moses list. Going into Ministry 20 years ago. I know that many of you who've gotten to know me won't believe this but truly I am a rather shy.

I know what time to expect to laugh. But I never really wanted to be the center of attention up front while y'all got to sit in the cushion.

The fear of public speaking is as great as the fear of dying.

I want to share that when I moved from counseling to pastoral Ministry, I went to George Fox to pursue a counseling degree. I was willing to go to Seminary that way I wasn't really sure that God would accept a single divorced women in seminary at all, but I thought a counseling degree I tasted really work in the Pulling that have accounting degree. I was wooed by the Lord though. Repeated what time is making that transition over and over that I was willing to be a pass. bargain with God I really to be a pastor that I never want to play.

That's what I told God.

Impact Credit requirement of preaching class came up I could hardly even say the word. I was giving a talk preparing a lesson sharing everything I could think of to not say preaching. It took me weeks literally even known that I was taking a preaching. I have a question for you. How many of you would like to trade places with me and speak up here?

Speakers with that man. It just means that each one of you is gifted in some other ways and you're gifted in ways that are not you're not gifted or willing. I didn't see a single cab. To take this role, but that means you have a role. We all have a part to play in that shared that over and over into the story called Newburgh United Methodist Church.

You know when you become a pastor I was should have had maybe at a really dramatic story of how I came to know the Lord and how my life went from the pit to paradise and I didn't have that. I was raised in the church by letting Christian family and in pain down the Lord truly all my life until I I kind of thought that this fall

And I did not see any women there two people growing up. I seen some missionaries that were women, but honestly one of the very first woman I hear preach. So go ahead and I had to do a lot of work around with this really even okay. The guy had asked me disturbing them kind of rule. Another piece in October this month is domestic violence awareness. And is one who had suffered assault at the hands of the one who promised to love me. I felt betrayed. I was betrayed I was broken. How could God use me? Why would God use me? Why would God choose me?

God's ways are not our way God's ways are far more creative than our God uses ordinary people like you and me all the time and often the people who lie would be least expect. To be doing whatever that is. That be like when you people by are human standards you seen that even in your own life. We're going to take a few minutes. hold on that list of reason it makes you feel you're disqualified and let them keep you from the joy of seeing God's power at work to overcome in your life. Maybe you won't throw them away, but you'll save up. This is just true. This is my truth. I'm just going to keep Tulsa

maybe you would want to take the list home and put on your refrigerator or the bathroom and look at it often. Remember that these things do not disqualify.

They do not disqualify you from answering God's call on your life. The dismissed is not a get out of doing what God wants or asks of your car. It's not a freebie.

Maybe you take this list home and pray over. Asking God to tell you the truth about your life and your life story in the way that he made you and those life experiences that are unique to you. Why none of it? It's a mystery.

Maybe for you, you want to give the list to God and ask him to reveal the purpose?

This morning, we'll have our offering place up front of people come for communion. And if for you it's important or that's helpful to symbolically place that list in the offering plate as a means of giving it back to the Lord. Please do that.

Maybe some of you will be so bold as to want to crumble up that list and throw it away or throw it in the offering plate realizing that those reasons are icy. Excuses don't exist.

I'd love to see the floor littered with crumbled up Moses list this morning. Because it would tell me people said I'm not going to believe anymore.

And maybe want to forget as fast as possible. Pastor. Marty has to do such a crazy thing this morning.

as we move to communion World communion Sunday. Take the time. You need to finish the list to pray over the list to pray over how you would God need to do business about those things. Are there things besides that list that you need to leave?

Maybe you're like God talks to me. God listens to me. Maybe you're there. Talk to someone God wants your heart your whole heart your whole life. This morning is a great time to say yes and give it to her.

Make us a spirit pour over us as we eat and drink this meal together. Maybe if you get some bread and fruit at the Bible for us as Christ body and blood that we made before the world his body.
