Sermon Tone Analysis

*Exodus 3:13* Then Moses said to God, "Indeed, /when /I come to the children of Israel and say to them, 'The God of your fathers has sent me to you,' and they say to me, 'What /is /His name?' what shall I say to them?" 14 And God said to Moses, "I AM WHO I AM."

And He said, "Thus you shall say to the children of Israel, 'I AM has sent me to you.' "

I.       God ia an available God.

A.     His name is so holy the scribes handled it with care

§  They thought about how he framed the worlds by the word of his mouth.

§  About how he flung the stars into their sockets; the sun and moon in their proper place.

§  They thought about how he gave the birds their songs and the winds its purr.

B.     It was Isaiah who said:

§  *Isaiah 43:10-13* "You /are /My witnesses," says the LORD, "And My servant whom I have chosen, That you may know and believe Me, And understand that I /am /He.

Before Me there was no God formed, Nor shall there be after Me. 11 I, /even /I, /am /the LORD, And besides Me /there is /no savior.

12 I have declared and saved, I have proclaimed, And /there was /no foreign /god /among you; Therefore you /are /My witnesses," Says the LORD, "that I /am /God.

13 Indeed before the day /was, /I /am /He; And /there is /no one who can deliver out of My hand; I work, and who will reverse it?"

C.     Paul tells us the great I am is our *provider*

§  *2 Corinthians 9:8* And God /is /able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all /things, /may have an abundance for every good work.

§  *Ephesians 3:20* Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us,

§  *Philippians 4:19* And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

D.     The great “I Am” is our *protector*.

§  *Exodus 14:14* "The LORD will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace."

§  *2 Chronicles 16:9* "For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of /those /whose heart /is /loyal to Him.

In this you have done foolishly; therefore from now on you shall have wars."

§  *Psalm 34:7* The angel of the LORD encamps all around those who fear Him, And delivers them.

§  *Psalm 46:1-2* God /is /our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble. 2 Therefore we will not fear, Even though the earth be removed, And though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea;

§  *Philippians 2:9-10 * Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, 10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth,

E.      The great “I Am” is a personal God.

§  *Psalm 91:15* He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him; I /will be /with him in trouble; I will deliver him and honor him.

§  *Luke 11:9* " So I say to you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.

* “what are you over here afraid of?

Afraid the people over on this side are gonna get ya, or that God is gonna get ya?

What are you afraid of?”*

God is an Able God.

§  In GENESIS, He is the Seed of Woman.

§  In EXODUS, He is the Passover Lamb.

§  In LEVITICUS, He is our Anointed High Priest.

§  In NUMBERS, He is Water from the rock.

§  In DEUTERONOMY, He is the Prophet like unto Moses.

§  In JOSHUA, He is Captain of the Lord’s army.

§  In JUDGES, He is our Messenger from On High.

§  In RUTH, He is our Kinsman Redeemer.

§  In 1 SAMUEL, He is our Great Judge.

§  In 2 SAMUEL, He is the Seed of David.

§  In 1 KINGS, He is the Lord God of Israel.

§  In 2 KINGS, He is the God of the Cherubim.

§  In 1 CHRONICLES, He is the God of our Salvation.

§  In 2 CHRONICLES, He is the God of our Fathers.

§  In EZRA, He is the Lord of Heaven and Earth.

§  In NEHEMIAH, He is the Covenant-Keeping God.

§  In ESTHER, He is our God of Providence.

§  In JOB, He is our living Redeemer.

§  In PSALMS, He is our King of Glory.

§  In PROVERBS, He is the Wisdom of God.

§  In ECCLESIASTES, He is the One above the Sun.

§  In the SONG OF SOLOMAN, He is the "Chiefest among ten thousand".

§  In ISAIAH, He is the Righteous Servant.

§  In JEREMIAH, He is our Righteous Branch.

§  In LAMENTATIONS, He is our Faithful and Compassionate God.

§  In EZEKIEL, He is the Lord of Glory.

§  In DANIEL, He is the crushing stone.

§  In HOSEA, He is the King of the Resurrection.

§  In JOEL, He is the Giver of the Spirit.

§  In AMOS, He is the Lord of Hosts.

§  In OBADIAH, He is the Deliverer upon Mount Zion.

§  In JONAH, He is in the long-suffering One.

§  In MICAH, He is the Pardoning One.

§  In NAHUM, He is the Avenging One.

§  In HABAKKUK, He is the Anointed One.

§  In ZEPHANIAH, He is the Mighty One.

§  In HAGGAI, He is the Ever Present One.

§  In ZECHARIAH, He is the Triumphant One.

§  In MALACHI, He is the Remembering One.

§  In EPHESIANS, He is the giver of all good gifts.

§  In PHILIPPIANS, He is the Supplier of all our need.

§  In COLOSSIANS, He is the Fullness of the Godhead.

§  In 1 THESSALONIANS, He is the Coming Christ.

§  In 2 THESSALONIANS, He is our Consuming Christ.

§  In 1 TIMOTHY, He is our Mediator.

§  In 2 TIMOTHY, He is the Righteous Judge.

§  In TITUS, He is our Great God.

§  In PHILEMON, He is our Debt-Payer.

§  In HEBREWS, He is our High Pries above all who came before him.

§  In JAMES, He is our Ever-Present Healer.

§  In 1 PETER, He is the Lord of glory.

§  In 2 PETER, He is the Beloved God.

§  In 1 JOHN, He is the Word of Life.

F.      He is my lily of the valley.

§  He is my bright and morning star.

§  He is my friend when I am friendless.
