Intro: 16 and a half years ago, Mosaic Church began as a community desiring to see every space, every moment redeemed by, through, and for Jesus.
Seven and a half years ago, this vision was contextualized to see every space, every moment redeemed within the uniquenesses of the lives of Disney Cast Members, to partner with Jesus as He redeems the world through Walt Disney World and beyond.

Now, we are stepping into the next chapter in Mosaic’s story, and that chapter is entitled, Every Moment. Over the next 5 weeks, we will be exploring together this epic quest that we will be journeying into with Jesus.

If you were here the last two weeks, you probably saw the teaser video for Every Moment that began with the rings of a tree, and as you came in today you most likely saw some of the special designs for every moment once again with the rings of a tree.
If you were here the last two weeks, you probably saw the teaser video for Every Moment that began with the rings of a tree, and right above me you can see these same tree rings on display. What a rich symbol.
I grew up camping in my home state of California in places like Yosemite and Sequoia National Park, and there were these massive Sequoia trees that we would be led onto by a park ranger, and we were captivated by the rangers as they would recount stories of all that these trees had once endured. The way they would do that was by examining those seemingly insignificant tree rings. They were trained to see what story each ring was telling, whether the trees endured droughts, fires, years with a ton of rain.

They were well aware of the fact that for these trees, every seemingly insignificant moment mattered.

Our lives are made up of moments like those wooded giants. Most of our days don’t feel overly significant or important, but it is the culmination of those ordinary moments that God uses to tell the best kinds of stories… Ones that transfix our gaze on His Son, Jesus.

This is why we drew inspiration for Every Moment from a passage in Scripture where the Apostle Paul was writing to a church to help the continually refocus on Jesus.
:
Vs 15 – Humans can spend their whole lives wondering what God is really like, but according to Paul, when we see Jesus we see the image of the invisible God. Jesus is compassionate, just, perfect, filled with hope, unwavering in His love and grace. He is humble, fierce, content, a great friend, and the only One who can save!

In the ancient world, the firstborn was the principle heir of the Father’s inheritance. Jesus is metaphorically the firstborn of all creation, the One who has the supremacy, honor, and dignity of the Father.

Our hearts are moved… Now think about the fact that BY Jesus all things were created. The ultimate demonstration of creation was crafted By Jesus and His power!

But Jesus did not just have others go and create all things in the beginning, it happened THROUGH HIM, He has always been present and unwavering. Which is powerful because the Gospel is the beautiful story where Jesus didn’t send someone else to rescue us from the brokenness of this world. He did it Himself! We now become active participants in redeeming all things through Jesus and His mission.

Who is the story ultimately for? Who was this work of art created to benefit? Jesus. It is all FOR Jesus and His Glory.

Vs 17 – Our every moments are not about us, they aren’t by us, through us, or for us. They are being held together by Jesus.
This is so crucial for us to remember as we unpack over the rest of our time together the practical realities of this Every Moment Vision. Because if we are not doing by Jesus, through Jesus, and for Jesus… then we might as well pack up shop and head home.

I would like to welcome up here Phil Taylor who is Mosaic Church’s Executive Pastor to unpack the practical realities of Every Moment…

One Fund: Guys and gals, we are getting a new home base! I am super excited for us to dive deeper into this vision of what this home will mean for our community, please be sure to be here next week because we will spend the majority of our time going into the vision of our new Home Base and how we are believing God will use it to expand the story of the Gospel throughout Walt Disney World and the world!
From a biblical community stand point, there are three primary spaces of these practical realities for Every Moment that have been prayed over for the last 18 months as all of us elders have dreamt of what God was calling us into across Mosaic as a whole and specifically here at Mosaic @ WDW.

Like the video also showed, we also get to be a part of building out Phase Two of our Winter Garden facility with more room for kids and students, adult education and necessary things like more bathrooms and a few offices.
Phil Taylor is the Executive Pastor of Mosaic Church and has been behind the scenes working on these Practical Realities for over a year, so I thought it would be great to invite him on stage tonight to help unpack how we together will redeem Every Moment.

For both of these building projects, our elders on our directional team spent a great deal of time praying about both of these realities and felt lead toward completing these projects completely cash only. Not taking out loans to make it happen.

This means we will build what we can afford and it is fully dependent on how all of us who call Mosaic Church home, both here and at Winter Garden Campus, respond as a collective church.
One Fund: We are getting a new home base and we are on track to move in DECEMBER 1st! Also, we are currently hoping to have our first Community Event there Wednesday, November 27th… Turkey Eve.

We have outlined the three different components of Every Moment: Equipping Our Family, Impacting Our World, and Expanding Our Story… but this is not, as Phil said, some separate budget or expansion fund. Instead, as we spent time engaging with Scripture we saw a biblical approach of having simply One Fund.

This One Fund combines everything into One Unified Budget… Our General Budget (Equipping our Family), Missions, Church Planting, and Justice and Mercy (Impacting Our World), and Capital Spending Building Projects (Expanding Our Story).
So when we add the total sum of these three spaces together we arrive at $17 Million over two years for Mosaic Church as a whole.

This also means that we at the Disney Campus are not isolated from the larger story of Mosaic happening in Winter Garden and around the world. As we enter into spaces of generosity within this One Fund we are partnering together in One Story. Our giving doesn’t just impact Disney Campus, but is supporting families adopting, supporting global partners around the globe, and caring for children to hear the Gospel in Winter Garden, and the generosity of those over in Winter Garden are partnering in our journey of impacting Cast Members with the Gospel.

This visual will hopefully be helpful. We all start off as Initial, never giving to Mosaic before, if that’s you maybe you move to Occasional, w

I have already shared the big number goal, $17 Million. But you want to know the truth… that is a goal, but that is not the goal. Because otherwise if some very wealthy person came in tonight and wrote a check for that amount then we would say well never mind, Every Moment Vision is complete!!! But the real goal is not about a dollar amount, it is 100% participation for those who call Mosaic Church home. It is all of us coming together and entering into this story as a family and community. This doesn’t mean that we all end up commiting toward being FEARLESS GIVERS. It means that all of us who are a part of this community grow in deeper dependence on Jesus within Biblical Community as we pray through at what level is God calling me to engage.

Commitment Card: There is a helpful tool that has been created to help give clarity toward what God is calling each of us into. Each of you will be given as you leave tonight a booklet that unpacks the heart and vision of Every Moment specifically. Along with it you will receive a Commitment Card. Don’t worry about filling it out tonight. Take it home, put it on the fridge and pray over it.
To fill it out, you write down what you normally give in a year up to this point. If it is zero write zero, that’s okay! Then prayerful consider and write down how you will now provide additional generosity toward this vision of Every Moment. The next line you add those two together. Then you times it by two years. This visual will hopefully be helpful. We all start off as Initial, never giving to Mosaic before, if that’s you maybe you move to Occasional, where you might give to the story of Mosaic but not consistently, or you move to proportional giving, in other words you give consistently a specific portion of your income, $5 per week $20 per week or whatever, then there is Faithful giving, this is known within Scripture as tithing, where you give 10% faithful to what God is doing through the local church, and lastly is fearless, where we give above the tithe to the story!

But just to circle back, we could be radically generous together, we could build buildings, give toward incredible causes, and equip our family in wonderful ways. But if it is not centered on Jesus. It is going to be ultimately fruitless and hollow.

Then you total all that up… and you write down on the bottom line what your commitment is.
Close (): Jesus is the Head of the Body, the Church. He is preeminent. All of this is must be ultimately about Jesus. God help us if Mosaic Church ever becomes more focused on it’s brand than Jesus’ glory. If we want to make our community comfortable more than entering into active participation with Jesus as He brings redemption into Every Moment.
