LOVE? what about jerks, evil people, or enemies?
8 Owe nothing to anyone except to love one another; for he who loves his neighbor has fulfilled the law.
9 For this, “You shall not commit adultery, You shall not murder, You shall not steal, You shall not covet,” and if there is any other commandment, it is summed up in this saying, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”
10 Love does no wrong to a neighbor; therefore love is the fulfillment of the law.
Simple message…We owe those around us to love them.
Rom. 12:2 - prove God’s will by transformation (renewing mind)
How this effects or God’s will for our relationships as most important...
Relating to church, loving God, other Christians, enemies, Government, etc.
NOW our neighbor.

26 And He said to him, “What is written in the Law? How does it read to you?”
27 And he answered, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength, and with all your mind; and your neighbor as yourself.”
28 And He said to him, “You have answered correctly; do this and you will live.”
29 But wishing to justify himself, he said to Jesus, “And who is my neighbor?”

BIG QUESTION: Why is this an obligation? It fulfills the Law. Not for salvation, but for “proving the will of God”
Gal. 5:14
14 For the whole Law is fulfilled in one word, in the statement, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”
James 2 8
8 If, however, you are fulfilling the royal law according to the Scripture, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself,” you are doing well.

BIG QUESTION: What does that look like?
The answer to that question is the journey of each believer. “proving the will of God” by having your mind renewed is the process of sanctification in relationships. It is taking on the mind of Christ.
It starts with those things you know then moves to those things you don’t know.
