Secular: For years many people knew that many of captains at the helm of some very large ships were finding there job very boring and found solace in a bottle of alcohol or by taking some illegal drugs…
… despite industry warnings to help their captains… to take some action… their was little motivation…
-          then a large number of ships including the Exxon Valdez… run aground causing environmental nightmares…
-          DID they not now the old saying… that we reap what we sow…
 
Biblical:
Galatians 6:7 Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, this he will also reap.
8 For the one who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life.
9 Let us not lose heart in doing good, for in due time we will reap if we do not grow weary.
10 So then, while we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, and especially to those who are of the household of the faith.
Personal: Ever walk through the door… and break into a elevated conversation immediately… You know it is a bad day and you just let it all fly… the wait of a bad day and you are yelling at Mom or Dad… maybe it is your spouse…
--- when you sow cranky conversation… you reap a nasty night of conversation…
 
Bridge: We reap what we sow….
We can’t take a short cut or work around the system… just like gravity… (which is very hard to fight…) we need to be very conscious of what we are sowing

God has you figured…
People who pretend to do good… but have poor motives…
People who claim to walk in faith but do not…
 
The Divine Rule:
for whatever a man sows, this he will also reap.
* If you plant peas… you get peas
* If you plant carrots… you get carrots
* NAU Proverbs 22:6 Train up a child in the way he should go, Even when he is old he will not depart from it… Plant faith… reap faith…
* Change your nature… change the outcome…
* NAU Job 4:8 "According to what I have seen, those who plow iniquity And those who sow trouble harvest it.

* When we share our faith… we don’t share something we achieved…
* We don’t share a human gift or secret
* Human secrets or success are temporary
* But when we share our faith in the Spirit… not something we can give… but a relationship we can explain… the truth we can expound… the Word of God to impact peoples lives…
* We don’t want disciples of Joe or Jane… we don’t want followers of SBC… we want people to follow Jesus… in the Spirit of God!!
* 1 Cor 1:12 Now I mean this, that each one of you is saying, "I am of *Paul*," and "I of *Apollos*," and "I of Cephas," and "I of Christ." 13 Has Christ been divided?
*Paul* was not crucified for you, was he?
Or were you baptized in the name of *Paul*?
* Lead people into relationship with Christ by revealing the truth of the Word and the hope we have through the Spirit of God.

*The Divine Law Fulfilled*
9 Let us not lose heart in doing good, for in due time we will reap if we do not grow weary.
·         Results guaranteed… we will reap… if we do good…
·         If we are faithful in serving our God… sharing the Gospel… living a life of faith… we will reap an eternal reward…
·         NAU 1 Corinthians 15:58 Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your toil is not /in /vain in the Lord.
·         It has the desired effect… God’s Spirit makes the Mission effective… the sharing of the Word effective…

·         The angels in heaven were not given the task…
·         It is the life of those that trust in Christ… be a witness… Live the life of Christ…
