John 12:20-36 “The Necessity of Jesus Death
and Ours”

As you listen to the Sermon today, try and answer some of these
questions to contemplate the meaning of the text and think about how
it applies to your life.
1) In response to a group of Greek “God-fearers” wanting to meet
Jesus, the LORD Jesus says, “the hour has come for the Son of Man
to be glorified”. What did Jesus mean? (vs. 20-23)

2) Can you explain in your own words the analogy concerning the
wheat dying and falling into the ground? What does Jesus mean by
this? What does this say about the necessity of Jesus death?

3) What does Jesus say should be the response of His followers to His
death? (vs. 25-26) Take some time alone today and consider how
you demonstrate that you hate your life because you are following
Jesus? Is there anything you need to change to demonstrate that
you love Jesus and His kingdom purpose more than you care about
your own comforts/pleasures of this life?
