Importance

A. Why
building relationships and prioritizing them are vital
The ability to build and maintain these relationships is vital
a prerequisite for success
if you arn’t building you are ultimately being destroyed and torn down
the wrong prioritization can derail a destiny
many are afraid to do this because doing so takes time
and time is money
it takes a lot of energy and investment
have all spent a time where we invest and get no return
therefore we are reluctant to pursue such things
its vital

B. a good borameter for you to do this is to ask yourself
How does this person fit in my life
in my destiny
in my purpose
Selfish?

The 3 C’s

a. Confidants
b. Constituients
C. Comrades
Elijah had Elisha
Paul had Timothy
Jesus had his 3

Priorities

I. Confidants
will be able to count on one hand
life or death
in it for the long haul
life or death
Count on one had
they are into you intimately
intimately connected
not just casual friendship
they make sure you stay on task
stay focused
that you reach your destiny
Ex. Pastor Marcus
II. Constituents
They are not into you for what you want but into you for themselves
they don’t care about your destiny
it simply doesnt matter to them
Understand the nature of the consituent
don’t fool yourself
they will leave the moment that they find someone that can further their agenda
they are only with you momentarily
III. Comrades
not for you and are not for what you are for
they have a common goal and that is it
your comrade is there there for an intimate relationship
they make strange bedfellows
ie. marriage between a husband and his wife
ever heard the saying that if you “lay down with dogs you wake up with fleas?”
so it is very important that you do not confuse the close connection that you might have with them
they will team up with you for one thing
don’t care about your destiny, but only to fight a common enemy
and they are there until the victory comes
and then they are out
that is their one and only goal
one and only purpose
Prioritize
assign
a. confidants, constituents, comrades
Be prepared, assign appropriately
expect that the constituents and comrades in your life will leave you eventually
So don’t be upset when it happens
if they have been assigned correctly you were already prepared for this to happen
So don’t be focused when they are not focused and do not react to your dream the way that you expect them
we see things one way, only the ones that are with you will see that vision as you spell it out
that is why communication is important
we will talk about that later
so you may be thinking, well what is the point
i got this
i will just avoid those two types of people in my life
Well sorry to tell you that life doesn’t work that way
it isn’t that easy
matter of fact you need to be careful and prioritize the relationships that you have are to come into your life correctly
know the position and role that each person is to and will play in your life
Ex. be careful who you tell your dreams to
Josephs dream
Genesis 37:1–11 ESV
Jacob lived in the land of his father’s sojournings, in the land of Canaan. These are the generations of Jacob. Joseph, being seventeen years old, was pasturing the flock with his brothers. He was a boy with the sons of Bilhah and Zilpah, his father’s wives. And Joseph brought a bad report of them to their father. Now Israel loved Joseph more than any other of his sons, because he was the son of his old age. And he made him a robe of many colors. But when his brothers saw that their father loved him more than all his brothers, they hated him and could not speak peacefully to him. Now Joseph had a dream, and when he told it to his brothers they hated him even more. He said to them, “Hear this dream that I have dreamed: Behold, we were binding sheaves in the field, and behold, my sheaf arose and stood upright. And behold, your sheaves gathered around it and bowed down to my sheaf.” His brothers said to him, “Are you indeed to reign over us? Or are you indeed to rule over us?” So they hated him even more for his dreams and for his words. Then he dreamed another dream and told it to his brothers and said, “Behold, I have dreamed another dream. Behold, the sun, the moon, and eleven stars were bowing down to me.” But when he told it to his father and to his brothers, his father rebuked him and said to him, “What is this dream that you have dreamed? Shall I and your mother and your brothers indeed come to bow ourselves to the ground before you?” And his brothers were jealous of him, but his father kept the saying in mind.
gen 37:3-11your constituents will end up deserting you and try to fulfill the dream without you
Genesis 37:3–11 ESV

your constituents will end up deserting you and try to fulfill the dream without you
your comrades won’t support you at all
they weren’t for you in the first place
so seek those people that are safe in which you can share your dream
so it is vital that you prioritize
make sure that you put people in its proper place
