Me

My name is Dominick Alipoon and it is an honor to celebrate Diana’s life.

We

That is exactly why we are here today, to remember and celebrate Diana and everything she stood for.
I love hearing stories of loved ones and Diana’s stories were special.
Diana loved to have fun. Crystal told me she was the fun grandma. She loved to dance, sing, and party. There was never a boring moment with grandma Diana.
Boy, could Diana tell a good story. There was never a story teller quite like her. She could make any story come alive. When Diana told a story it felt like you were right there in the thick of it all.
Diana’s sister Minnie tells a wonderful story about how she would follow Diana wherever she went. Minnie would follow Diana everywhere, she did it so much that Diana would refer to Minnie as her real life baby doll.
Those aren’t the only things that Diana loved.
She also loved to travel. Diana and her sisters loved to go on “sister trips.” They would explore everything, eat at the best restaurants and have the best of times.
What surprised me the most was Diana’s skill with electronics. She could fix any electronic. It didn’t matter if it was a TV, a radio, or anything else.
Diana also loved God and she loved to sing about Jesus.

God

Diana loved God. Even in her last hours she loved Jesus. Whenever I hear that it warms my heart. But something else makes me want to shout for joy.
One of her favorite songs to sing was Blessed Assurance Jesus is Mine!
By the way this is a powerful song. Listen to the words.
Blessed assurance, Jesus is Mine!
O, what a foretaste of glory divine!
Heir of salvation, purchase of God,
Born of His Spirit, washed in His blood.
This is my story, this is my song,
praising my savior all the day long;
This is my story, this is my song,
praising my savior all the day long.
Perfect submission, all is at rest,
I in my Savior am happy and blest,
watching and waiting, looking above,
filled with His goodness, lost in His love.
Every time she would sing it that song or listen to that song, she was proclaiming that Jesus was hers. There wasn’t a doubt. She was assured that Jesus is Hers.
Diana belongs to Jesus and Jesus belongs to her.
Its good to mourn and cry. It shows just how much Diana affected us. It shows just how much we care and miss her.
But we have hope.
Diana loved Jesus and was assured of her salvation because of her love for Jesus.
If we too will hold onto Jesus and His promises He will not cast us out but we will be reunited with Diana when Jesus comes again.
John 6:37 ESV
37 All that the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never cast out.
“Him that cometh unto me I will in no wise cast out.” Present this assurance to Jesus, and you are as safe as though inside the city of God.”
I believe that we too will see Diana again when Jesus comes to remove all death and destruction from this world. Because Diana knew what mattered most. The people around her and trusting in Jesus.
I believe the last verse of Blessed Assurance gave Diana peace.
Perfect submission, all is at rest,
I in my Savior am happy and blest,
Watching and waiting, looking above,
Filled with His goodness, lost in His love.
We too are watching and waiting. For that beautiful day when Jesus comes to destroy all death and decay.
Diana will breathe again.
Diana will laugh again.
We will be able to embrace her again.

You

The first thing Diana will see when her eyes are opened is the face of Jesus.

We

Diana doesn’t have to be there alone.
She can be joined with all of her family and friends.
We just have claim the same promise that Diana claimed.
I have all the assurance in the world. I have all the hope in the world. Because Jesus is mine. He belongs to me.
Claim that just as Diana claimed it and we are as safe as though we are inside the city of God.
