Fearing God and loving what God says go together. Having a deep awe and reverence for God means we have a deep awe and reverence for His Word. Do you love God's words, statutes, laws, and commands? Psalm 119 is written by a psalmist who does.

Psalm 119:47 KJV

47 And I will delight myself in thy commandments, Which I have loved.

SCRIPTURE:

Psalm 119:1–11 KJV

1 ALEPH. Blessed are the undefiled in the way, Who walk in the law of the Lord. 2 Blessed are they that keep his testimonies, And that seek him with the whole heart. 3 They also do no iniquity: They walk in his ways. 4 Thou hast commanded us To keep thy precepts diligently. 5 O that my ways were directed To keep thy statutes! 6 Then shall I not be ashamed, When I have respect unto all thy commandments. 7 I will praise thee with uprightness of heart, When I shall have learned thy righteous judgments. 8 I will keep thy statutes: O forsake me not utterly. 9 BETH. Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? Eight Hebrew Words for God’s Covenant Revelation:

Law, torah: instruction

Testimonies, ‘edot: what God solemnly testifies to be His will

Precepts, piqqudim: what God has appointed to be done

Statutes, khuqqim: what the divine Lawgiver has laid down

Commandments, mitswot: what God has commanded

Judgments: mishpatim: what the divine Judge has ruled to be right

Word, dabar: what God has spoken

Word, ‘imrah: the words of God

Over and over again, the psalmist writes of his love for God’s words.

It is said in many different ways:

I seek them

I choose them

I follow them

I desire them

I want you to see some of the verses where the writer specifically says he loves God’s words.
