Today we will be concluding our Blessed Life series.
Now I have detoured from the original direction of the series which orginally was going to be modeled off off Robert Morris’s Blessed life series, which is an excellent series by the way that you can find on You Tube.
But I didn’t wnat to weigh you down with six weeks of tithing messages as I understand that most of the people that the Lord sends our way are usually on life support.
Today we are going to be talking about the Blessing of Obedience.
It is hard getting someone to understand that when their life is in a mess their most urgent need is to get their life right with the Lord.
Because when a persons life is in a mess all they deal with is the urgent, and to them the most urgent need is to
Change someone else that has hurt them
Need money right now to pay a bill
Deliverance from a consequence of their own making
Or you fill in the blank
But can I tell you that your most urgent need is to get things right with God and too quite playing games with him.
Why?
Because of the
Law of the Harvest
Galatians 6:7
Laws of physics --
gravitation,
quantum mechanics,
electromagnetism,
the nuclear force
These Laws are Laws that God has built into his natural creation that gives us order and allows for life.
Now these laws cannot be broken because you choose not to believe in them.
if you don’t believe me jump off your house rooftop and believe that gravity is just a figment of your imagination, that it was manmade to keep you grounded.
What you will find is that it is a law that will take effect rather you choose to believe it or not
Laws of Human Nature
But God has also built in Spiritual laws, and these laws are built in to create consequences to our actions.
God has a moral law and when that law is violated their are going to be unintended consequences.
That is the reason you never hear of an affair ending well.
You never see a drug addict prospering, they may appear for a time to propser but it always ends in heart ache and death of different kinds.
And what Paul is saying is listen don’t be deceived, God is not mocked, what you sow, you will reap.
The law of the harvest is either beneficial or it is destructive.
For instance if you sow your money into doing good and furthering God’s Kingdom you are going to be blessed.
If you do good, and are merciful, you will receive mercy.
If you give, it will be given to you.
If you forgive you will be forgiven.
God doesn’t operate in the pure unconditional… many of his promises to you and I come with conditions.
But when a persons life is in a mess, it is usually because their faith has suffered shipwreck.
And that is why I say to you this morning that the most important thing when you are in a hole is to get right with the Lord.
Because if you try to find some little cute remedy to your problem, if you settle for a quick fix to your immediate need it won’t be long until you have disheartening situation...
Especially if God is the one fighting against you
You say God would never fight against me!
God is a God of Love… Of which I would say yes, and because of His love that is why he is fighting against you....
Now let me say this, many people are afraid to fully surrender their life fully to God because they are not sure what that is going to look like.
This morning we are going to look at a Christian who was running from the will of God, and what the
I mena there are some crazy ideas out there.
Is God going to make it to where I can never out on makeup again and dress up like its 1830
Will I have to sell all my stuff and go and be a missionary in the Congo jungle
Am I going to be a sign toting zealot that hangs out in front of bars, and yell at people telling them they are going to hell
Am I going to be someone that is like super weird, living on weirdo-ville
We all have that image right of someone that we have seen.
Let me say this that when you fully start living for Jesus, He doesn’t make you some unreasonable nut job.
No listen he will make you more reasonable than you have ever been before.
When you see odd Christians, let me tell you something, they were odd before they gave their life over
Phillipians 4:4-7
Let your reasonablenss be known to everyone, the Lord is at hand.
We are a peculiar people, but that is because of the new revelation we have…
Heres what you will lose-
anxiety.
Listen we had our world stand still the other day when we found out that there is someone out there claiming to be our adopted babies father
Supernatural help- make your prayer request to God
Peace- it will guard your hearts.
All of a sudden you get help from an All powerful God
I know this to be true, If God is calling you, and you refuse, you are going to be a miserable wretch.
There is a dual story taking place here.
God is pursuing a rebellious People, and He is pursuing a rebellious prophet.
The message to both is there will be judgment if there is not repentance.
Today people act like preaching about hell and judgment is cruel.
Can I tell you that not warning people is cruel.
If more hell would be preached from the pulpit we would see less hell in the community.
Whale Tales
, the great African elephant is not the biggest animal on earth.
A whale’s tongue alone can sometimes weigh more than an entire elephant.
As a matter of fact, a great blue whale can weigh as much as 286,000 pounds.
You could put him on one side of the scale and put thirty-six elephants on the other side of the scale
They harpooned the whale, and his tail lashed up and overturned the boat.
One man drowned.
Bartley disappeared.
Later on, they captured the whale, brought him up alongside that ship, and were flaying the blubber off.
And when they’d done that, they hoisted the stomach of the whale up on the deck of the ship and noticed some movement on the inside, cut it open—and there was Bartley.
He was huddled up in a fetal position, but he was alive, and they washed him down with salt water.
After a while, he regained consciousness.
He was stark raving mad for about two weeks.
The third week, he regained his consciousness and was put back to work aboard that ship.
And there have been records where—at least this particular record—where a whale swallowed a man and kept him alive.

• Dr. Harry Rimmer, who I have loved to read about, told about another man who was swallowed by a great shark.
Some men had gone out and harpooned the shark.
And the man fell overboard and was swallowed down by that shark.
And forty-eight hours later, they caught the shark, shot him with a deck gun.
And the shark was so big they towed the shark to shore and opened him up to give this man a Christian burial.
And to their amazement, he was alive.
And his skin was like parchment, all the hair was gone off of his head, and he had brown patches on his skin.
And he was shown in a museum in London as the twentieth-century Jonah•
I believe if we had more hell in the pulpit, we’d have less hell in the community.
I believe that it is not cruel to preach on hell and judgment; it is cruel not to do so.
And God said to Jonah, “You go and preach a message of judgment to these people.”
Blessed are the mercifull
I want t tell you that there is a God that is chasing you today and he will not relent he will not tire.
You will relent you will tire, but God gets what He chases.
Even if he has to send a storm into your life
You may run but he is right on your heels, you will tire but he will niot.
