Introduction

Will you permit to make what has become a controversial statement? “I am created in the image of our awesome God and you are too!”
Over the next two weeks: (1) I am Created: In the Beginning & (2) I am Created: A New Beginning.

I. “God Who Made The World” (Acts 17:22-25)

The Text:
v. 24 - “Made the world” = God has created everything that exists.
v. 25 - He gives to all life, breath, and all things = Everything that exists has life because they have been created by the One Who is Life.
The Consistency:
-Genesis 1-2, Seven days.
-Exodus 20:8-11, Seven days.
-John 1:1-3, Through Jesus (Colossians 1:16-17).
The Design & First Cause:
-Design: The universe is fine tuned, especially for life on earth. The body is amazing act of engineering (Psalm 19).
-Cause: The universe requires a first cause that is equal to or greater than what exists.

II. “He Made From One Blood” (Acts 17:26-29)

The Text:
v. 26 - “He made” = Genesis 1:26-27. “From one blood” = All of us go back to Adam & Eve (Genesis 1-2; Mark 10:6).
v. 28 - “In Him we live and move and have our being” = Our reality and existence depend upon Him.
v. 29 - “Offspring of God” = Our nature proves that God is not something lesser, but must be greater than we are.
The Moral Argument:
-Man is a moral being by nature.
-The natural world is not moral.
-This demands a source of morality beyond ourselves.

Conclusion

Notice Acts 17:27, 30-31. Man is created to seek God and must (Ecclesiastes 12:13-14).
Colossians 1:16 teaches us we were created for him.
Finally, consider Psalm 8:5. Man stands as a unique part of God’s creation.
