QOTD What are the principles that God uses to judge sinful man?
A Jew would hear of God’s wrath and agree (“This is for the Gentiles”) Romans 1:18:32

i. Underestimating the height of God’s righteousness & ii. Depth of our sin.
Condemning chicken pox with spots on your body.
None of us are in a place to wag our fingers at one another. Be sober-minded.

The Jews lived in constant judgment of others. (Brought it onto themselves)
“Hit me with the stick 1st, and than I get to hit you.” (Landry & Bo)
If you practice judgment, you are opening yourself. “I would never do that.”

The believers underestimated grace. Used it as an excuse to sin.
Became spiritually hardened. (Stubborn, no repentance=storing up wrath)
Instead of noticing grace, we will accuse God of being mean to us.
Kindness doesn’t excuse us to sin. It’s supposed to convict, repentance.

i. Righteous deeds - Doing good for “glory”, “honor”, “immortality”, and “eternal life”.
ii. Unrighteous deeds - Doing good for selfish ambition, not obeying truth, not obeying the word.
India - Went to serve, instead paraded around. (This is what Americans like)
Our deeds don’t save us, but they reveal our true heart.

Jews (With full view of God’s law) were no different than Gentiles (half or no view)
Jews thought they had a favored status. Everyone has a sense of right & wrong.
We see favored treatment everywhere. Usually in our neck of the woods during the sports season.
God will favor no person over the other. All judgment is the same.

God knows every motive. The gospel of Jesus Christ pierces the motive of man.
“The day of wrath”
Why don’t we talk more about this? What’s wrong with understanding God through fear?
If i know that I can’t fake out God, I am forced to deal with this fast, I can the road to salvation.
Do the principles of God influence us or do we want to make up our own? We all have this choice to make.
Are we we willing to accept God’s work without trying to make up our own interpretation of it?
