Two enemies of Grace: Legalism and Perfectionism
Today we want to look at Grace that sets us free.

Perfectionism causes us to look at the wrong things and is rooted in insecurity.
Perfectionists are hard on themselves and others.
Because of this they are a pain and they damage relationships.

He is not talking about genuine right living.
Your ideal will always fight with reality.
We are never good enough and that feeling will drive you into perfectionism.
Too many people put that perfectionism voice on God, but God doesn’t nag… it doesn’t work on others or ourselves.
The antidote is to relax in God’s Grace.
How to Break Free from the Performance Trap… RELAX in God’s Grace
Realize nobody is perfect.
Only God and His Word are perfect and thats what wee need to base our lives on.
Used to be a philosophy… I’m ok and you are ok.
The truth is I am not ok and you are not ok but because of God’s Grace in our lives, that’s ok.
God wants us to grow and to do great things for him but he is not waiting on you or I to be perfect or good enough.

Enjoy God’s unconditional love.
We are God’s Children.... not his servants.
Grace = God is on our side.
God loves us unconditionally.
We are programmed to love conditionally, but that’s not how God loves.
Let God handle things.
We need to do what we can do and let God handle the rest.
God can handle all the uncontrollable things in our lives.
The perfectionism in us tries to handle everything.

Things don’t have to be perfect for you to be happy.
There is no perfect family… vacation… job… kids… husband… wife…
Act in faith not in fear.
Grace through faith is how we are saved and how we stay saved.
It’s a gift.
We continue to live by faith.
Everything God gives us is because of His grace.
None of us deserve anything from him.

Perfectionism destroys peace.
There is none of us that can measure up to God’s glorious standard… that’s why Jesus came.
He is perfect.
