John’s words here take us back to that time, before creation took place…to the time of “In the beginning,” in order to say, “The Word was there.”
In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.
Now wait…, I’ve read Genesis and the only thing it says that was in the beginning was God…, and now you’re telling me the Word was there?
