*Intro:* The issue is still Christian liberty
A- *LIBERTY* = To do or omit things that have no relation to salvation.
*2 Timothy 2:1*, You therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.
*1- **The reasons for Christian liberty are:*
a- Freedom from the paralyzing effects of sin.
b- It’s the totality of grace.
c- A tool to be used for His glory.
- Past religion was always bondage to me because of the lack of liberty.
· It was a load I was expected to carry.
- BUT as I found peace with God through Jesus Christ, true religion was a relationship that instead of bondage was really freedoms in everyday life for my comfort and His glory.
*John 8:36*, “Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.
B- *In Chapter 8:* We saw that our liberties are to be used to strengthen our fellow believer’s lives and not for the benefit of my earthly desires.
*Read Galatians 6:1-5*
1- *In Chapter 9:* We saw how the servant of the Lord voluntarily limits his use of legitimate liberties (not sin) for the benefit of the cause of The Lord.

*A- **How a people who have obtained liberty from the world can so easily return through liberties gone unchecked.*
1- It then becomes a stumbling point in our walks, and leads to disqualification from the race we have been called to run.

1- They were miraculously delivered from the bondage of the world.
2- They were baptized into Moses
3- A God provided all their necessities.

A- We saw the plagues designed to show God’s power over the Egyptian gods.
1- How God would deliver them when they did not deserve it or unable to do it themselves.

Flee also youthful lusts; but pursue righteousness, faith, love, peace with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart.
1- In what areas did they misuse their liberties?

*A- **The same ones man has been misusing since the beginning of time.*
1- Idolatry, Sexual immorality, Testing God , Complaining (knowing better than God)
*1 Corinthians 10:7*, And do not become idolaters as were some of them.
As it is written, “The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play.”
*#1- Idolatry*
A- Corinth was saturated with idols.
1- Chapter 5:11 tells us there was believers were involved with them.
a- God and idolatry can not coexist in a believers life.

*Read 1 Corinthians 10:20-21*
2- Greek God’s
a- Mary, saints, icons, angles
*Exodus 20:3*, “You shall have no other gods before Me.
3- Idol is anything that comes between us and our relationship with God.
a- Idolatry does not have to be something physical.
*Ezekiel 14:3*, “Son of man, these men have set up their idols in their hearts, and put before them that which causes them to stumble into iniquity.
Should I let Myself be inquired of at all by them?
*1 Corinthians 10:8*, Nor let us commit sexual immorality, as some of them did, and in one day twenty-three thousand fell;
*#2- Over indulging in liberties can lead to sexual immorality.*

1- Liberty in this area leads to:
a- Destroyed marriages
b- Pregnancies
c- Diseases
