Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us.

A. Lord teach us to pray

B. Jesus (Our Example) is a Man of Prayer

1. Cycles of Prayer (Human Nature):

CRISIS – EMERGENCY

INTENSE PRAYER

THINGS BACK TO NORMAL

LOW LEVEL OF PRAYER

CRISIS – EMERGENCY

AND ON AND ON…

2. Why Prayer?

FIGHT TO PRAY – AND THEN FIGHT IN PRAYER

PRAYER IS THE BATTLEFIELD – LIFE IS GATHERING THE SPOILS OF PRAYER.

(My Aunt Katie Jean’s prayer life)

3. Levels of Prayer - PRIORITIES IN PRAYER

Acts 4:23 NKJV
23 And being let go, they went to their own companions and reported all that the chief priests and elders had said to them.
Acts 4:23–31 NKJV
23 And being let go, they went to their own companions and reported all that the chief priests and elders had said to them. 24 So when they heard that, they raised their voice to God with one accord and said: “Lord, You are God, who made heaven and earth and the sea, and all that is in them, 25 who by the mouth of Your servant David have said: ‘Why did the nations rage, And the people plot vain things? 26 The kings of the earth took their stand, And the rulers were gathered together Against the Lord and against His Christ.’ 27 “For truly against Your holy Servant Jesus, whom You anointed, both Herod and Pontius Pilate, with the Gentiles and the people of Israel, were gathered together 28 to do whatever Your hand and Your purpose determined before to be done. 29 Now, Lord, look on their threats, and grant to Your servants that with all boldness they may speak Your word, 30 by stretching out Your hand to heal, and that signs and wonders may be done through the name of Your holy Servant Jesus.” 31 And when they had prayed, the place where they were assembled together was shaken; and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they spoke the word of God with boldness.
Matthew 6:7–15 NKJV
7 And when you pray, do not use vain repetitions as the heathen do. For they think that they will be heard for their many words. 8 “Therefore do not be like them. For your Father knows the things you have need of before you ask Him. 9 In this manner, therefore, pray: Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. 10 Your kingdom come. Your will be done On earth as it is in heaven. 11 Give us this day our daily bread. 12 And forgive us our debts, As we forgive our debtors. 13 And do not lead us into temptation, But deliver us from the evil one. For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen. 14 “For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. 15 But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.
And being let go, they went to their own companions and reported all that the chief priests and elders had said to them. (24) So when they heard that, they raised their voice to God with one accord and said: "Lord, You are God, who made heaven and earth and the sea, and all that is in them, (25) who by the mouth of Your servant David have said: 'WHY DID THE NATIONS RAGE, AND THE PEOPLE PLOT VAIN THINGS? (26) THE KINGS OF THE EARTH TOOK THEIR STAND, AND THE RULERS WERE GATHERED TOGETHER AGAINST THE LORD AND AGAINST HIS CHRIST.' (27) "For truly against Your holy Servant Jesus, whom You anointed, both Herod and Pontius Pilate, with the Gentiles and the people of Israel, were gathered together (28) to do whatever Your hand and Your purpose determined before to be done. (29) Now, Lord, look on their threats, and grant to Your servants that with all boldness they may speak Your word, (30) by stretching out Your hand to heal, and that signs and wonders may be done through the name of Your holy Servant Jesus." MOST OF ALL: Prayer is DAILY Communion WITH God / Jesus

CONSISTENT, HABITUAL, DAILY, INTENTIONAL, UNHURRIED PRAYER (TIME WITH GOD) IS YOUR CONTACT WITH GOD / JESUS – THEIR PRESENCE IN YOUR LIFE AND SPIRIT - AND YOUR SOURCE OF LIFE, STRENGTH. POWER, ANOINTING – ALL BASED ON THE WORD – AND ALL SUPPORTED BY YOUR REAL, BIBLICAL FAITH.

LOW LEVELS OF PRAYER AND FAITH LIMIT GOD – DON’T LIMIT GOD –

(ALL BASED ON FAITH): Prayer, the Word, Holiness, Fasting.
