DT: When the Christian exemplifies peace, in his life, he distinguishes himself from the world
Aim: We will glorify God by becoming peacemakers
Introduction: As Jesus continues to preach to and teach His disciples on this mountain, we are able to observe as progression of spiritual expectations Jesus has for His followers. The Beatitudes, we have been studying are more than statements, they are expected results for us and dependable promises from God toward us.
Today’s beatitude is know different. The expectation Christ has for each of us is to be peacemakers. By definition, a peacemaker, is one who endeavors to reconcile persons who have disagreements; they make peace.

The Christian Seeks Peace

It is important to note that, one will not have peace anywhere until he has made peace with God. The Christian desires a life of peace. This peace can only be found in Christ. The world may be in disarray but when the Christian has found peace in Jesus, the Christian can live with confidence that God is in control.
John 14:27 ESV
27 Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.
John 16:33 ESV
33 I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.”
John

Application: Make Jesus your savior so that you will experience and have peace. Money will not bring peace. Cars will not bring you peace. Houses will not bring you peace. Seek a relationship with Christ and you will find peace.

The Christian Promotes Peace

The Christian does not allow unrest and discord to be a product of his life. The Christian is active in reconciling people, promoting harmonious relationships among people and the ultimate welfare of the world. They live peaceably and even love their enemies.

This is to say, that Christians ensure that others understand that the only way to peace is to know God. They make peace by preaching the gospel; that is to proclaim the gospel of the kingdom of God whereby people are reconciled to God

Christians promote peace with others
What the Christian does, promote unity and reconciliation between those who may have enmity. Christians are not instigators. They work to solve problems and reconcile relationships.
Luke 10:5 ESV
5 Whatever house you enter, first say, ‘Peace be to this house!’
