In March of 2004, a woman tried to use a counterfeit $1 million bill for the purchase of $1,675 in merchandise at a Walmart in Covington, Georgia. Soon the little cashier's light was flashing for a supervisor and the woman was soon arrested by the police. In her distorted view of reality, she somehow believed the store would let her purchase the products AND give her $998,325 in change. The plan was easily foiled because an alert cashier knew the truth that $1 million bills don't exist. Knowing the truth keeps us from failing prey to counterfeit schemes.
