                                            THE CHANGE OF COMMAND

                                                            Num. 27:18-23

 

Sermon in a Sentence: It is God Himself who raises up leaders for His people.

                                                               Introduction

                                    God Ordained Leadership- 1 Ki. 19:16;Jn. 20:21

                                                [Joshua named Jesus- Acts 7:45;Heb. 4:8]

           “There is no success without a successor”.

“Everything rises or falls upon leadership”.

 

I.                   Joshua was a Prepared Man.

A.    Joshua was Prepared in His Character.

1.  Joshua was a Faithful & Courageous Man. (Num. 14:6-10)

2. Joshua was a Wise Man. (De. 34:9)

3. Joshua was a Spirit Indwelt Man. (Num. 27:18)

4. Joshua was a Obedient Man. (Jos. 8:8)

5. Joshua was a Humble Man. (Ex. 33:11)

      

B.     Joshua was Prepared by His Career.

1. In Egypt and at the Red Sea

2. On Mt. Sinai (Ex. 24:13)

3. In the Tabernacle (Ex. 33:11)

4. In Canaan as a spy (Num. 13:8)

5. On the Battlefield (Ex. 17:9-14)

 

II.         Joshua was a Picked Man.

                   (Num. 27:18-23)  

III.       Joshua was a Man with Great Potential.

                      (Josh. 1:1-5;Jos. 11:23)

                                                                        Conclusion

Joshua was successful and rewarded. (Jos. 11:23;19:29,30;Ju. 2:8)
