Intro

- One of my favorite commercials is that series from snickers, “your not you when your hungry.”
It shows that a lot can happen to our emotions when we are hungry so it’s interesting, when we do it by choice, especially when we are already mad.

Hangry pharisees.

VS. 12-22

A new extreme, they vow to not eat until his demise. Wow! What is our mission in life what are we willing to give up food for, and is it productive for the kingdom of God.? They involved the chief priests in their plan, and had all the details lined up.

Sometimes the best plans fall through especially when we plan with emotion and not prayer.

Paul’s nephew, he told Paul about what happened in the temple so they Paul sent him through one of the centurions to the commander of the barracks. The commander asked him the information he knew. The commander told him to go and swore him to secrecy, just like that the plan was gone. Listening and telling the truth are important, We should not be scared to tell the truth

VS. 23- 30

He prepared an army to take Paul safe to the governor Felix, and sent with him a letter. Essentially it was giving Felix the responsibility of dealing with the chaos surrounding Paul. This was the right decision, for him to see the facts and sed it to the right person. So often we deal with issues we have no reason, dealing with.

If something is above your pay grade don’t demand a raise.

We have to be willing to let others help us especially as decision makers. There is a lot of people with good opinions and we have to see that sometimes our strengths are not ones that can handle the situation before us, a behavior modeled, by Claudius Lysias.

Prepare two hundred soldiers, seventy horsemen, and two hundred spearmen: 470 trained Roman soldiers would escort Paul out of Jerusalem. It was as if God wanted to exaggerate His faithfulness to Paul, and show him beyond any doubt that the promise of Jesus was true.

VS. 31-35

The soldiers delivered Paul safely to the city of Antipartis, where he addressed the governor, and explained who he was. The governor, did something amazing, he waited for the accusers before, he made a decision.

13 He who answers a matter before he hears it,

It is folly and shame to him.

Are we willing to make a decision until we hear out both sides?

There must have been a comfort that came over the apostle, as he heard this message of a fair shake. Next week we will see what comes next.
