Introduction
Good Evening tonight my hope is for us to walk away encouraged in both our walks and the future we have walking with the Lord.
Passage
Pray...
1.
Those who walk with the Lord remain with the Lord.
When we place all of our trust and focus on the Lord, we walk in his ways, he instructs us on our path and road to salvation and victory in Christ.
Psalm 25:
God enables those who walk with him to remain faithful and protects us from the snares of the evil one.
But, it is not under our own strength or power.
It is by the power of God alone that we are able to overcome the traps of the enemy.
1 Sam 2:6
When we believe and place our trust in Christ he establishes us on his path and in his will which is a firm foundation.
We must pray asking God to help keep us on his path and in his ways.
Psalm 4
Transition: Not only do
1.
Those who walk with the Lord remain with the Lord.
2. Those who walk with the Lord receive aid from the Lord.
We are not promised prosperity or success.
In reality the righteous are promised to have times of struggles but we rest knowing that in those struggles the Lord takes care to aid us.
Faith for my deliverance is not faith in God.
Faith means, whether I am visibly delivered or not, I will stick to my belief that God is love.
There are some things only learned in a fiery furnace.

Listen to what tells us.
Fill
Clearly, falling, stumbling having moments of weakness where our flesh hinders us in our pursuit of the Lord is guaranteed.
However, it is also promised that those who are walking with the Lord will rise from the fall.
Think back to the Peter’s life story.
He was called to follow Christ, he acknowledged Jesus as the Son of God, yet he stumbled.
How did he stumble?
He denied Christ three times, but Jesus restores him just like he restores all believers who have moments of weakness and falter and fall.
Look at what Paul tells the church in Corinth concerning Christian affliction in 2 Corinthians 4:7-12.
When we suffer, we suffer for the sake of the Gospel.
It is through our afflictions and struggles that people are able to witness the power of Christ in and through us.
We must live lives that remain faithful to the Lord in the trials.
We remain faithful through....:
Prayer
Reading God’s Word
Repenting of any sins we committ
and
Reaching for Jesus every day while we are waiting for his perfect timing.
A famous evangelist told the following incident: I have a friend who in a time of business recession lost his job, a sizable fortune, and his beautiful home.
To add to his sorrow, his precious wife died; yet he tenaciously held to his faith -- the only thing he had left.
One day when he was out walking in search of employment, he stopped to watch some men who were doing stonework on a large church.
One of them was chiseling a triangular piece of rock.
"Where are you going to put that?" he asked.
The workman said, "Do you see that little opening up there near the spire?
Well, I’m shaping this stone down here so that it will fit in up there."
Tears filled my friend’s eyes as he walked away, for the Lord had spoken to him through that laborer whose words gave new meaning to his troubled situation.
When we have God’s perspective on discipline, we can have the joy of the Lord in the midst of great tragedy.
