The Lord’s prayer in Matt 6:9-13 walks us through how to pray.
It’s not the only way to pray, but it provides some guidlines for how we can pray effectively.
You may have repeated this pray hundreds of times but it provides a great outline for our prayer life.
It’s simple, beautiful and powerful.
If we sue the principles in His prayer, we can use them to help us develop our own prayer life.
1. Connect with God relationally.
“Our Father...”
Remember our identity: We are sons and daughters… heirs.
It helps to pray out loud when you pray.
God knows our thoughts and our motives, but he loves to hear our voice.
It also helps us as we pray to hear our voices.
2. Worship His Name.
Hallowed be your name...
Spend time in worship each day.
Put on some worship music.

You don’t have to worry if you can sing or not… God loves your worship.
3. Pray His Agenda first.
Your kingdom come Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
The more you press into the WOG and allow the HS to change you, the more your prayers will be in line with God’s prayer and his will for you.
TIP - There is not right posture for you to pray in… stand, pace, walk or kneel… whatever workd for you.
4. Depend on Him for everything.
Give us this day our daily bread.
There is nothing too big for God nor is there anything too small for him…
Prayer is doing more than we can see because God is doig more than we know.
5. Get your heart right with God and with people.
Forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against you.
Confession is agreeing with God about your sin.
We may need to ask others for forgiveness or offer forgiveness.
Forgiveness brings freedom into your life.
6. Engage in spiritual warfare.
“And do not lead us into temptation but deliver us from the evil one.
Prayer is communication with God and confrontation with the enemy.
7. Express faith in God’s ability.
For yours is the Kingdom and the Power and the Glory forever.
