⇒ It was in exile that Jacob saw God at Bethel (Ge. 35:6f).
⇒ It was in exile that Moses saw God at the burning bush (Ex. 3:1f).
⇒ It was in exile that Elijah heard the still small voice (1 K. 19:3f).
⇒ It was in exile that Ezekiel saw the glory of the Lord by the river Chedar (Eze. 1:3 f).

John was in a trance - on the Lord’s day - not a dream

Jesus proclaims again that He is the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end of everything.
Revelation is to build us up, not scare us to death. That’s why Christ tells us about it.

the candlesticks represent the Church
The light they give off represent Christ
He is the only true light in the world.
it is the job of the church to hold Him out for all the world to see.
However, many churches today hide Him in a closet
Unless Christ is in the midst of the church
there will be no light
For Christ to be in the Midst of the church
Christ has to be the very focal point of the church!

He was so Majestic - John had to find earthly things to compare
Robe -
His robe represents the:
Prophet - Robe itself
Priest - Golden sash
Covers the heart
Christ holds us and the church close
King - His white hair
Like wool and snow
Wears it like a crown
representing his purity and sinlessness

He had seven stars in His hand
The 7 stars represent His messengers
In this case His messengers are his pastors or preachers
His hand hold the preacher firmly

Two edged Sword
That is the Word of God
it is the truth
and the truth can cut both ways
it can penetrate the soul
