Please open Bible to Exodus 3:11-14 11 And Moses said unto God, Who am I, that I should go unto Pharaoh, and that I should bring forth the children of Israel out of Egypt? 12 And he said, certainly I will be with thee; and this shall be a token unto thee, that I have sent thee: When thou hast brought forth the people out of Egypt, ye shall serve God upon this mountain. 13 And Moses said unto God, Behold, when I come unto the children of Israel, and shall say unto them, The God of your fathers hath sent me unto you; and they shall say to 1 me, What is his name? What shall I say unto them? 14 And God said unto Moses, I Am that I Am: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I Am hath sent me unto you. With peer acceptance, career 2 4. As Adults with being relevant & Legacy New Year’s 1. A time of Year that we reflect 2. Reflect on Who I AM I? 3. With New Year resolution we attempt 4. To define 5. Redefine 6. And or Refine 7. Who we think we are 3 C. 3. But I am here today to tell you, 1. You will never know who you truly are without a relationship with God! 2. Who you are hinges on your relationship with God 3. Life without a relationship with God is a spiritual. 4. A relationship with God starts with a response to His Word. E. 4. We find Moses in this Passage Responding to Gods words at the Burning bush 1. Moses is in a midst of an Identity Crisis 2. God had a plan for Him, as he do for all of Us 4 Some argue Moses felt inadequate to take on God’s plan 1. Some argue he was making excuses 2. Give Moses some credit 3. He recognized he needed to ask his creator who he is! 4. If folks fail on knees..ask Him. ….Who I am I ? 5. You might find out why life for you... within... purpose not living H. If notice God never answered Moses Question! 5 1. It didn’t matter who he was 2. It didn’t matter 40 years ago murdered 3. it’s about who God is 4. And who you are in God 5. We all know of God, but do you know God? God described Himself as 1. I AM THAT I AM 2. BADEST STATEMENT 3. You have to know God, To know who you are in God. 6 Through inspirited revealed writings in the Bible I find God is… 1. He is the One and only True God and 2. God all by Himself 3. He is one who reveals Himself in three persons: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit 4. He is a Spirit and His Spirit dwells within those who are saved 5. He is Creator of all things 6. He alone is eternal (has always existed) yesterday, today and forevermore. 7. He is self–existing one (He is completely self–sufficient and independent of anything else for His existence). 7 8. He is all–knowing -He knows everything, even what you did last summer! 9. He is all–powerful 10. He is omnipresent (present everywhere at all times), 11. He is Unchanging can’t be changed or altered 12. He is holy (without sin) 13. He is just 14. He is righteous 15. He is merciful 16.He is incomprehensible- I will run out of words before I run out of God to describe, no man can fully comprehend Him, yet he make Himself known 8 17. He is loving – He gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life M. hold on I’m not finish N. Christ declared Seven "I AM” in the Book of John 1. I AM the bread of life.-He who comes to me will never go hungry, and he who believes in me will never be thirsty. 2. I AM the light.-Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” 9 4. I AM the door. 5. Jesus said again, “I tell you the truth, I am the gate for the sheep." 6. I AM the good shepherd. 7. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep. .. 8. I know my sheep and my sheep know me...." 9. I AM the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies." 12. I AM the way, the truth and the life. 10 -No one comes to the Father except through me." 13. I AM the true vine you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing." When you have an indwelling relationship with God – Bible says I’m 1. God Say I am in Him 2. I am alive with Christ (Ephesians 2:5). 3. I am free from the law of sin and death (Romans 8:2). 11 4. I am holy and without blame before Him in love (Ephesians 1:4; 1 Peter 1:16). 5. I have the peace of God that passes all understanding (Philippians 4:7). 6. I am a new man, have put off the man, which is renewed in the knowledge after the image of Him Who created me (Colossians 3:9-10). 7. I am not lacking for, my God supplies all of my needs (Philippians 4:19). 12 8. I am one who can do all things through Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:13). 9. I am a child of God! (1 Peter 1:23). 10. I am God’s workmanship, created in Christ unto good works (Ephesians 2:10). 11. I am a believer, and the light of the Gospel shines in my mind (2 Corinthians 4:4). 12. I am a doer of the Word and blessed in my actions (James 1:22, 25). 13 13. I am more than a conqueror through Him Who loves me (Romans 8:37). 14. I am a partaker of His divine nature (2 Peter 1:3-4). 15. I am an ambassador for Christ (2 Corinthians 5:20). 16. I am the temple of the Holy Spirit; I am not my own (1 Corinthians 6:19). 17. I am forgiven of all my sins (Ephesians 1:7). 14 18. I am redeemed from the curse of sin (Galatians 3:13). 19. I am healed by the stripes of Jesus (Isaiah 53:5; 1 Peter 2:24). 20. I am submitted to God, and the devil flees from me because I resist him in the Name of Jesus (James 4:7). 21. I ain’t never scared! For God has not given us a spirit of fear; but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). 22.
