New Things

23 His great love is new every morning. Lord, how faithful you are!

Do you like getting new things?  I think we all do.  There is nothing like getting a new pair of shoes or new clothes.  You just feel good when you put them on.  Michael Jordan said that wore a new pair of shoes for every basketball game that he played.  When a reporter asked him why, he said that he loved the way he felt when he put on new shoes.

Sometimes we don’t get new stuff very often.  We have to wait for shoes to wear out or  We have to wait until payday or for a special occasion.  Or we wait until our grandpa or grandma give us something new.

What if I told you that you could have something new every single day?  Would that be cool?

In the book of Lamentations The Bible tells us that God’s great love is new every morning.  It never gets old and it never wears out. It is always new.  I think I understand what Michael Jordan was talking about.  When we wake up every morning we can know that God has a new fresh love for us and that ought to make us feel pretty good.
