They are NECESSARY at times

What/Who makes them necessary?

Circumstances?

1 Pe 3:17

For it is better, if God should will it so, that you suffer for doing what is right rather than for doing what is wrong.

1 Pe 4:19

Therefore, those who suffer according to the will of God shall entrust their souls to a faithful Creator in doing what is right.

They come in many FORMS - WAYS

We are not exempt from the pain of fallen humanity.

They are not EASY

2 Corinthians 1:8-11

Praise God, they don’t LAST LONG

An eternal perspective

This is hard for us to comprehend. When we do, it seems it is only for a brief moment because we live in this life minute by minute. This is all we know.

They serve a PURPOSE

Prove our faith - to receive praise - honor - glory

We love him

We believe him

We walk with joy inexpressible and full of glory
