The Flood - Fact or Fiction?
gen
The story of the Flood
Evil prevailed upon the earth -
The wickedness of man was great - every intent and imagination of his heart was evil continually
The Lord was sorry He had made man
But Noah found grace - Thank God - Noah had faith ()
Do You Believe This Story?
Many scientists and teachers attempt to pass this off as a fairy tale - a fable
Even many Christians do not believe a literal truth of this story
Some Christians attempt to compromise, adjust the story to fit with the world’s view - Such as a localized flood, or a parable
Modern scientists (so called) claim that such an event was impossible
they claim that the geological records shows evidence of evolution over millions of years
they claim that the earth is billions of years old and geologic columns formed slowly by erosion and other natural process
But what do you believe?
What you believe matters
It is relevant today
Does “Science” Prove The Flood is false?
Actually, the geological record supports the story of the flood
Grand Canyon strata was not formed over millions of years (could not have been)
Layers are smooth - not eroded
(video) (28:00- 31:40 & 36:00-37:00
Missing layers between Cambrian and Pre-Cambrian layers
Animal fossils suddenly appear in Cambrian layers
sandstone layers - 1st layer from Mexico to Greenland - points to catastrophe
Coal - layers spread worldwide
Mt.
St. Helen's evidence of Strata being formed quickly - over 600 ft
Fossilized forrests
Coal being formed quickly
Fossils record could not exist through natural process
There is no Scientific “proof” either way
But there is evidence to support The Biblical Truth
You must “decide” what you believe
Jesus Believed The Story of Noah’s Flood
Jesus, who is God in the flesh, spoke of the flood
He also instructed us to remember the flood, and learn from it for today
If it were not true, He would have told us.
mat24:
Jesus warned us of a tribulation to come
followed by a final judgement
He compared this to the time of Noah’s flood
He warned that we should “watch”
He reminded us that people were not watching then
Peter Also Believed The Story of The Flood
He urged us to remember the lesson
He prophesied that people of our generation would reject the story
Paul even prophesied that they would point to science as their “evidence”
Peter wrote that the flood was an act of “judgement” of God
And evidence of a coming “Judgement” by fire
God has appointed a day - a certain day
His Judgement will come - He desires us to be saved - to enter into His ark
2pet3.
A new heavens and new earth - with righteousness
looking forward to these things
be diligent to be found in Him in peace
