good to be here, blessed weather
what does it mean to biblically praise and worship God
progression of praise and worship
Jesus and his sacrifice are the secret to praise and worship
this leads to, what they call, the throne room where we stand in the manifest presenceof the lord, during in his presence conference we learned the term used for this is his glory, shiny, cloud, wind, weighty,
we choose to worship Jesus the messiah, father God , and the holy spirit,
we are always worshiping something, so lets choose to worship the god of the bible
What do capitalists worship?
profits
a husband once said, My wife worships me
She puts burnt offerings in front of me everyday
we all worship something, because worship means to give worth, and i want to give worth to God in everything i do
1st point was the relationship between old and new testaments
the relationship between old and new testaments
good to be here, blessed weather
Hebrews 10:1 ESV
1 For since the law has but a shadow of the good things to come instead of the true form of these realities, it can never, by the same sacrifices that are continually offered every year, make perfect those who draw near.
Pray for south, and hurricane Barry
pray for government, all positions
Hebrews 8:4–7 ESV
4 Now if he were on earth, he would not be a priest at all, since there are priests who offer gifts according to the law. 5 They serve a copy and shadow of the heavenly things. For when Moses was about to erect the tent, he was instructed by God, saying, “See that you make everything according to the pattern that was shown you on the mountain.” 6 But as it is, Christ has obtained a ministry that is as much more excellent than the old as the covenant he mediates is better, since it is enacted on better promises. 7 For if that first covenant had been faultless, there would have been no occasion to look for a second.

secret of praise and worship, the sacrifice, and jesus being the center of it all
New with us, people of his presence
these verses look at old what the old was meant for and now looking at the better priest, better sacrifice, the better promises, the better covenant
Year theme - in his presence
the old covenant was good, the new is better by a thousand
the old says do good get good, do bad get bad
new trust in God and good is coming your way, you already have done bad so the good you get isn’t based on your own good that you have aspired to do or create but is based off God’s goodness which is a perfect goodness
you are a part of the family of God and now my identity is a child of God, i dont get the good from God because i did good or bad, i get good from God because i am his.
and we praise him for what he did to make us his.
and we sing to him because of what he did to make us his
and we bow, and we clap, and we shout, and we dance to our God for what he did to make us his very own
illustration
earlier in year, tabernacle, means for us
so we find ourselves in the presence of god
one of the ways the bible talks about this is being married
Isaiah 62:5 ESV
5 For as a young man marries a young woman, so shall your sons marry you, and as the bridegroom rejoices over the bride, so shall your God rejoice over you.
Revelation 19:7 ESV
7 Let us rejoice and exult and give him the glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and his Bride has made herself ready;
Revelation 21:9 ESV
9 Then came one of the seven angels who had the seven bowls full of the seven last plagues and spoke to me, saying, “Come, I will show you the Bride, the wife of the Lamb.”
when you finish the chapter, and you go big picture, this chapter is about intimacy with God as marriage is the analogy, and then also how it is from intimacy that life comes and is birthed and how when it happens in physical reality it is but a shadow of the spiritual reality.
New covenant and old covenant
how does intimacy happen? what does it look like?
Summer series, People of His Presence, book
the book says, it is not sex with God or making out with God, but it’s like a good father who loves his son, or a daughter with her good dad. Intimacy in relationships is
Ask me, why does this matter? Or what is the importance of His presence?
2 Corinthians 3:16–18 ESV
16 But when one turns to the Lord, the veil is removed. 17 Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. 18 And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit.
2 cor 3:16-19

Section, old vs new
16, who are we turning to? Not anybody else or anything
Veil lifted, over our spiritual eyes and heart and mind
We saw the world one way, now turned
17 lord is God the father, lord is the spirit
Spirit
Romans 8:1–11 ESV
1 There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. 2 For the law of the Spirit of life has set you free in Christ Jesus from the law of sin and death. 3 For God has done what the law, weakened by the flesh, could not do. By sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and for sin, he condemned sin in the flesh, 4 in order that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not according to the flesh but according to the Spirit. 5 For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit set their minds on the things of the Spirit. 6 For to set the mind on the flesh is death, but to set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace. 7 For the mind that is set on the flesh is hostile to God, for it does not submit to God’s law; indeed, it cannot. 8 Those who are in the flesh cannot please God. 9 You, however, are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if in fact the Spirit of God dwells in you. Anyone who does not have the Spirit of Christ does not belong to him. 10 But if Christ is in you, although the body is dead because of sin, the Spirit is life because of righteousness. 11 If the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit who dwells in you.
(ESV)
its this spirit that gives life, its this spirit that informs the rest of this verse,
going back to 2 cor, its this spirit that gives life, its this spirit that informs the rest of this verse,
Where this spirit is there is freedom
Freedom

People of his presence, people of his spirit, people of his freedom
2 Corinthians 3:18 ESV
18 And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit.
Vs 18
Glory means weighty or heavy, literal sense, his person, the spirit, nt nuances can range greatly,
look into his presence, into his person, we begin to become like him,
level of glory, level of his presence, more like him, and then more like him, deeper and deeper,
and who makes this growing and changing possible, who’s at the center of it all the spirit
who is to us life and freedom
why people of his presence
where his presence is, there is freedom, and there is life, not only life but abundant life
chapter 4
comes right along side this thought of life
goes right along
whole chapter summarizes the analogy of being in the presence of the lord to marriage.
intimacy in marriage and life is produced in the physical sense
intimacy with God produces life in us and is fruit into the world around us
life, just talking about, pov marriage, and as a physical marriage produces physical life, so does the relationship of bride, us , and groom, jesus, produces life inside of us
pg 48, 2nd to last paragraph --- here’s the point
the life that God produces and gives is the best life ever,
not money
love, power, peace, grace, joy, patience, goodness,
why people of his presence
his life is the best life
