God Charges us to Fight for the Faith

When we know who we are and what have in Christ, We realize we are saved to serve.

Holman New Testament Commentary: I & II Peter, I, II & III John, Jude A. Jude States His Purpose for Writing (vv. 1–4)

“Faith” refers to a body of objective truth, not the subjective experience of believing something.

In Christ, we are:

We are purchased by Jesus (Rescued).

We Saved to Serve

1 Corinthians 6:20 NASB95
For you have been bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body.
1 Peter 1:19 NASB95
but with precious blood, as of a lamb unblemished and spotless, the blood of Christ.

We are Called

God Sends out a General Call and an Effectual Call
Matthew 11:28–30 NASB95
“Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. “Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. “For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”
Romans 8:30 NASB95
and these whom He predestined, He also called; and these whom He called, He also justified; and these whom He justified, He also glorified.
God created human being with free moral agency, and He does not violate this even in the supernatural work of regeneration. Christ does not rudely bludgeon His way into the human heart. He does not abrogate (annul) our creaturely freedom. No, He beckon and woos, He pleas and pursues, he waits and wins. (Timothy George, Amazing Grace, 86–87).
Jesus Woos Pursues and Persuades.

We are loved

1 John 4:10 NASB95
In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins.
Now, in christ we are God’s children

We are Kept

Hebrews 7:25 NASB95
Therefore He is able also to save forever those who draw near to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them.

In Christ, We have:

Mercy: Matthew 5:7
Samaritan: Luke 10:30–37
Romans 9:23 NASB95
And He did so to make known the riches of His glory upon vessels of mercy, which He prepared beforehand for glory,
