Bible Truth:  Christ’s Sufficiency is the basis for sufficiency of his followers.

2 Corinthians 12:7-10

“The atonement is sufficient in value to expiate the sin of all men indiscriminately; and this fact should be stated because it is a fact. There are no claims of justice not yet satisfied; there is no sin of man for which an infinite atonement has not been provided. . . . Therefore the call to “come” is universal”  (Dogmatic Theology, vol. 2 [Nashville: Thomas Nelson, 1980 reprint], 482).[1]

Aim:  That you will acknowledge the completeness of Christ as source of salvation and foundation for holy living.

Once we become Christians, we are to do those things that are pleasing to God.  But we are to do those things as a result of our salvation, not to earn it.  On the cross Jesus said “It is finished”.  Done, Complete, There is nothing else to follow.

A Glace At Our Salvation

Our salvation can be look upon in many ways.
Past Present Future
Justified Sanctified Glorified
Position Progression Finalization

Positional - We are all in the same position  - Holy, Sanctified, Justified, Priest .

We are holy to the fullest extent through Jesus Christ.

Progressively – We are transformed daily, it’s practical.  We play apart in this aspect.

We can be as holy as often as w like, for how long we like.

Final – We are glorified with Jesus.  When Jesus comes back for us then we will have reached final salvation.  Our progressive salvation and our positional salvation will be the same.  We will no longer wavier in our holiness.

The natural response to so complete a salvation is gratitude to God.  The reason we are unhappy is because we don’t accept our salvation fully or we really don’t comprehend the fullness of our salvation.

We should be in the church praising God, because unlike the people in the Old Testament we don’t have to do a thing, we don’t have to try to abide by a law, which our nature could never fully fulfill.  If any of you have ever experience the desire to just be spiritually right constantly, you know what those people went through.  And what many of us are going through today.  But Christ ended the struggle.  Paul said once he realized his salvation wasn’t determine by his work, but by  Jesus atoning work, he stop trying to do right and found it quiet easy to do right.
