INTRODUCTION
How’s your growth going this year?
Passed the Half-way point… Do you see any changes yet?
What do you need to do to get back on the path of growth in your walk with the Lord?
New Sermon Series:
How many came to have church this morning?
How many brought your shout with you this morning?
How many knows that you shouldn’t have walked out of your house this morning without your shout?
Did you know that God didn’t call you to sit on the back pew with your mouth closed all morning?
Well, I hope you came ready to shout to the Lord
Sermon Series: SHOUT
The Scripture is full of shouting.
Battle of Jericho
Shouts of worship & Praise
In this series we are going to cover different kinds of shouts that we need to apply in our lives regularly.
Some of the Shouts we will be looking at this series:
Shout of War
Shout of Promises
Shout of Joy
And this week…
SHOUT OF HEALING
Turn with me to Mark 10:46-52
As you turn there:
How many need a miracle this morning?
How many are sick and afflicted this morning and need a healing?
Get ready to shout!
Cause there’s power in your shout this morning?
Pro 18:21 says...Death and life are in the power of the tongue:
There is power in your shout this morning to speak death and life into existence!
Let’s pray and then look at our scripture:
PRAYER
SERMON
Mark 10:46-52
The Shout of Blind Bartimaeus caused a powerful move of God!
His Shout caught the attention of Jesus!
And I am convinced today that we can have the same power...
We can have the same kind of impact in our shout as Bartimaeus had back then.
How powerful was Bartimaeus’s shout?
Scripture says in verse 49 that his shout was so powerful it brought Christ to a stand still!
Jesus Christ the Son of God who was brought to a stand still that day.
There’s only a few things in scripture that ever brought Jesus to a stand still and one of them was the shout of Bartimeus.
Listen… Do you need God to stop and see where you are at today?
Do you need a healing?
When was the last time you shouted for your healing?
I know that shouting isn’t proper and doesn’t seem reasonable, and it sure isn’t sophisticated...
But if it worked for blind Bartimaeus… I believe it will work for you!
This morning we are going to look at the two different kinds of Shouts of healing that Bartimaeus had.
1.
A Shout of Faith
Mark 10:46-47
Jericho… This isn’t just a random coincidence… Does anyone remember what happened at Jericho?
Your Shout has power!
We are not called to be silent, but to shout for our victories and our healing!
Verse 47 says Bartimaeus heard Jesus was coming and started shouting?
He Heard… That is all it took…
Remember… Bartimaeus was blind!
He was unable to see Jesus coming...
He couldn’t see who was drawing the crowds of people…
But He heard Jesus was coming.
Unlike so many others… He never saw Jesus perform any miracles… He heard the testimonies and the stories of the great healer… But did not experience it for himself.
You could say… He was walking by faith and not by sight!
Because He had faith that Christ could heal him.
And based on what he had heard… He began to Shout to get Jesus’s attention.
He didn’t even wait for Jesus to find Him… He shouted to stand out in the crowd.
He expected his shout to move Jesus!
So he let out a shout of faith.
How many us today, knows we need that kind of shout this morning?
A shout of faith!
It’s a shout that only comes from hearing the Word of God!
It’s not one of sight… Its faith.
That kind of shout makes the Lord stand still… and look right at you.
But, sadly… we live in a sight and sound generation!
We struggle to live in faith.
Hearing and reading the word of God seems not enough for this Generation.
Even with the word preached with power and authority… we can struggle to have faith.
Even with testimonies of God’s healing power… We still struggle to have faith that God can heal us.
Today’s Christians have to hear it… but also see it happening before they believe in it.
We have doubted the promises of God’s Word.
Instead of taking His word by faith… we say “prove it” to God.
We want God to prove what He can do before we ask Him to do it.
This isn’t faith…
Faith is...
Hebrews 11:1
Faith is knowing and believing that God will do whatever His word promises!
And when you have that faith… You can shout about it!
We need to be like Bartemeus and begin to shout in faith, for what He WILL do even before He does it!
Do you need a healing this morning?
Scripture says:
1 Peter 2:24
You have been healed… Have been… Shout out to the Lord for your healing!
And when you start shouting out to God for your healing… Don’t quit until you get what you are asking for!
We need to be persistent!
And that takes us to the second shout of healing...
2. A Shout of Persistence
Scripture teaches us to be persistent in asking the Lord for our healing.
- ask and keep asking...
- Seek and keep seeking...
- Knock and keep knocking...
- Persistence always pays off!
Look at Mark 10:48 again...
In verse 47… Bartimaeus started shouting when he heard Jesus was coming...
