Oh God our father in heaven holy is your name your kingdom come your will be done on earth as it is in heaven, please give us today our daily bread and forgive us our debts as we also have forgiven our debtors.

Lead us not in to temptation but deliver us from the evil one.

God as we begin to read your word today help us to clear our hearts and minds and focus on you and on what your Spirit is telling us today.

give us ears to hear and renew our hearts within us.

have your way with us we pray oh God and direct us where we should go.

we ask you to bless us as we look into your word in 1 Samuel today.

In sum, the Song concludes with a two-fold plea for Yahweh — the incomparably holy one, the rock (v. 2), the truly knowledgeable one (v.

8) — to raise the king of Israel to a position of power and prominence worthy of the Great God who appointed him.

Having come to God with nothing, she now returns to Shiloh to give back that which means everything.

And does so in a heart of PRAISE!!!

How does this apply to you today?

You like Hannah are barren having come to God with nothing, He has given you everything in His Son Christ Jesus!!

this incomparably holy one, this god who has true knowledge of you, the God who is the only wise judge and will one day judge you, has raised for himself a king of power beyond the curse of the grave, who reigns forevermore, in order to bring the dead to life eternal

and He did so not begrudgingly but in a spirit of worship and praise
