PSALM 34
Continuing on in our sermon series in the Book of Psalms the songs that we will be visiting summer after summer Lord willing last September. We finished off on Psalm 33 Today we look at Psalm 34.
This year I have been reading through the works of John Newton. John Newton was a one-time slave trader who became a priest in the Church of England in the 1700s. He is most well known for composing the hymn Amazing Grace. But he actually wrote many hymns and I came across one of his hymns this past week in my reading called safe a new comprehensive sentence. And this him face figuratively takes on the abilities of a human beings five senses. And this was particularly of interest to me because as I told you I believe the summarizing verse of Psalm 34 is verse 8 taste and see that the Lord is good in regards to feed sense of taste Newton's him goes like this the truth and goodness of the Lord are suited to face taste mean is the world lens pampered board to face Perpetual Feast that is through faith. There is a feast there is a tasting of the goodness of God. Interface sense of sight to her the hens verse is more piercing than the Eagle's flight fade views the world unknown surveys the Glorious Realms of light and Jesus on the throne that is with faith. We can see the goodness of God. I thank goodness that we are to taste in to see is the goodness of who got is but in this song, it's more specific. It's tasting and seeing the goodness of the Lord in Salvation. And so with that in mind, let's take a look at this song. You can. Find the song on the back of the insert that you'll find in the bulletin. I hope that you have a Bible of some sort to look at this morning as well. You could open up the psalm 34. There is one place. You will not find it this morning and that's on the screens behind me. We are going to forgo the use of PowerPoint over the summer. So let me encourage you to bring a Bible in one form of the other or you can use the back of the insert where the full song is given though. It is in small print. Psalm 34 Of David when he changed his behavior before abimelech so that he drove him out and he went away. I will bless the Lord at all times his praise shall continually be in my mouth. My soul makes its boast in the Lord let the humble hear and be glad oh magnify the Lord with me and let us exalt his name together. I saw the Lord and he answered me and delivered me from all my fears. Those who look to him are radiant and their faces shall never be ashamed this poor man cried and the Lord heard him and saved him out of all his troubles. The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear Him and delivers them. Oh taste and see that the Lord is good blessed is the man who takes refuge in him over fear the lord you Saints for those who fear Him have no lock. The Young Lions suffer want and hunger, but those who seek the Lord lack. No good thing. Tamil children listen to me. I will teach you the fear of the Lord. What man is there who desires life and loves many days that he may see good keep your tongue from evil and your lips from speaking deceit Turn Away From Evil and do good seek. Peace and pursue it. The eyes of the Lord are toward the righteous and his ears toward their cry. The face of the Lord is against those who do evil to cut off the memory of them from the Earth when the righteous Cry for Help the Lord hears and delivers them out of all their troubles. The Lord is near to the Brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous but the Lord delivers him out of them. All. He keeps all his bones not one of them is broken Affliction will slay the wicked and those who hate righteousness will be condemned the Lord redeems the life of his servants. None of those who take refuge in him will be condemned. Let's pray father God. We thank you for your word this morning. We come to you now and ask that you buy your Holy Spirit would help us this morning.
Help us to understand with our minds your glorious words and to embrace that truth with our hearts. We believe that as you help us do so we will be changed. And we desire that change we desire to be conformed to the image of our great savior who we have celebrated already this morning.
And we can do that apart from your health. So we come before you throw ourselves at your feet and ask you help us this morning father. I pray you would help me to communicate and to Proclaim it to preach your word in a manner. That's faithful.
Knowing that you have promised that your word will accomplish all that you sedative to do.
And I pray father God help us to see Jesus this morning. In his name we pray amen.
This song I think can be summed up. with these words the Lord saves The Lord saves therefore we should taste and see his good salvation and respond and praise and obedience. The Lord say therefore we should taste and see his good salvation and respond and and praise with praise and obedience. As we consider this song we need to begin with the question as we think about salvation as we think about the fact that God Saves we need to ask the question saved from what? David's me understand the context of this song David the one-time Giant Slayer. The one who had taken on Goliath and seen God salvation in that battle. He had become a destitute Nomad and a wanted fugitive. What's the context of this song that he writes? We see it in the superscription. That's not a little description of the song. That's right at the start of it where it says of David when he changed his behavior before abimelech so that he drove him out and he went away. she dated was fleeing from the hands of Saul but consequently, he fell into the hands of a Philistine King of gath the very City the Goliath come from very City of the giant him David had killed Twin flame from song David fell into the hands of his own people's mortal enemies we read about in 1st Samuel 21:10 through 22 or 1st, Samuel 21:10 through chapter 22 verse one. We read a David Rose and fled that day from Saul and went to a Koosh the king of gas that word accurate. Should I name? My cache is different than what's in the song abimelech and let me just a lay any concerns about the Bible not being accurate or inconsistent royalty could be called by different names. If I was to ask you who's first in line to the throne of England, you could say Charles in which case you'd be right, but you can also say the Prince of Wales, but you would also be correct. That's how this works cuz she's likely his is informal name the name he was given a betta let is likely the Royal name. He was given. David Rosen said that they from Saul and went to a cash the king of gas in the Servants of a cat said to him is not this David the king of the land did they not sing to one another of him and dances saw has struck down his thousands and David his ten thousands. 2010 mm. You know, who those were those were Philistines? so the Kings AIDS are saying isn't David. Is this David who killed Goliath? Isn't this David who has killed tens of thousands of Philistines? Well, it says in verse 12 David took these words to heart. It was much afraid of a Koosh the king of gath so he changed his behavior before them and pretended to be insane in their hands and made marks on the doors of the Gated. Let's spittle run down his beard. Then I just said you a service behold. You see the man is mad why then if you brought him to me, do I lack Mad Men that you've brought this fellow to behave as a Madman in my presence shall this fellow coming to my house? And then we read David departed from there in Escape to the cave and nodular David when he was fleeing from Saul his trials and tribulations were piling one on top of another saw was trying to kill him and he fell into the hands of the king of the area of which David had killed their hero and killed many of their people. And so he is responding to God's working of Salvation in his own life. But if you remember the songs were congregational songs, and so he's also teaching his people.
He's teaching them that God Saves. And that they should taste and see the goodness of God and they should respond and praise and obedience. That's what David was saved from. And if you would call this is the time of the Israelites the time of the judges have just passed. It was a dark time for Israel. They were at a low Point spiritually the priesthood what was corrupt. The Ark of the Covenant was not at the Tabernacle idolatry was practiced the judges so they would save Israel or dishonest and ungodly and you had Samuel and David began to reverse the situation, but it was many years at David's rain before there was safety and peace in the land. In fact, the Israelites had two main enemies the Philistines in the ammonites and they were a people.
Who would be continually looking for God's salvation through their existence as they fought enemies as they encountered difficulties the salvation of God would be an ongoing theme for them. We see it throughout the songs. This causes us to ask this morning. What about us? That's great. David was saved David needed God's salvation and Israelites were continually needing I but what about us this morning? What do we need saving from? Wearied helpfully in the New Testament about what we need saving from going to draw your attention to your attention to Ephesians chapter 2 and will return to a later on in the in the sermon but in a fusions chapter 2, we get a picture of what we need saving from Paul and Rain to the Ephesians says that we all Humanity all mankind are dead in trespasses and sins. He says that we are following. We are following the prince of the power of the air the the devil the enemy of Men In God we are we are in his camp. We refer to as being sons of Disobedience who are by Nature children of Wrath. Go farther on in Chapter 2. He informs us that apart from Christ. We are separated from God. We are strangers to the promises of God. He says we have no whole our situation is hopeless. So every human being has need of salvation. Perhaps we don't face mortal enemies. We're going to kill us in war. But every human being needs salvation from death and from sin and from Satan and from the wrath of God and from our alienation to God and we need saving from the Hopeless condition. We live in So what is salvation than what is this solve a shin? The David is talking about we read about it in verse 4 and verse 6 David says I sought the Lord and he answered me and delivered me from all my fears. He delivered me from all my fears over six this poor man talking about himself. This poor man cried and the Lord heard him and saved him out of all his troubles. David talks about a comprehensive salvation of God one in which he is delivered from all his fears one in which he is saved out of all his troubles. This is the Salvation that David is talking about in Psalm 34. But this song again is supposed to be instructive instructive to the congregation instructive to God's people and so David and courage has Israel with an even more robust picture of the Salvation of God. Where's 5 those who look to him are radiant their faces shall never be ashamed verse 7 the angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear Him and delivers them. In verse 10 those who seek the Lord lack, no good thing verse 15 the eyes of the Lord are toward the righteous and his ears hear their cry. We're Seventeen when the righteous Cry for Help the Lord hears them and delivers them out of all their trouble. Particularly heartwarming verse particularly for those who are in difficulties Verse 18. The Lord is near to the Brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.
How to pause for a minute on that versus I was thinking about this sermon and reflecting on its words. I was reminded of the men in our congregation who would say this describes them. They're they're broken hearted. They're crushed in spirit because of the situation that they are in because of the difficulties are the trials that they are facing with Ozark physical or relational or emotional or economic.
They're broken hearted in their crushed in spirit. And as I was thinking about that and thinking of the many in our congregation who would say yeah, that describes me in the at this moment in time.
to encourage you to not think of yourself as the only one who understands what you're going through. Often times when we Face difficulties, we like to convince ourselves that nobody knows what I'm going through. Nobody knows what I'm experiencing.
No one's suffer the way I
let me suggest to you that that is very unhelpful that only is it inaccurate. It's on helpful. Let me say this to you and I said cautiously.
but sincerely you're not the only one who has suffered like you're suffering. In fact, there are many who have suffered far worse than you have not understand when I say that that in no way devalues your suffering. The fact that someone else knows what you're feeling and experiencing or the fact that another person has experienced something more difficult than Wars in no way impacts what you're going through.
But here's why I think this is important.
recognizing that others Know what you're experiencing. Admitting that others could be going through something much worse than what you're going through. Put you in a place. Were you can be encouraged and where you can be strengthened if you isolate yourself and insulate yourself with this thought that nobody knows what I'm feeling and nobody has experienced what I'm experiencing you are isolating and insulating yourself from the help that God may offer you from your brothers and sisters. I don't bring this up to make your pain and suffering any smaller or devalue it in any way. But I encourage you don't think that you're alone and you're suffering.
Moving on to these pictures of Salvation we read in verse 19 that the Lord delivers him. That is the righteous out of all their afflictions verse 20. He keeps all his bones not one of them is broken verse 22 the Lord redeems the life of his servants. None of those who take refuge in him will be condemned. This is a glorious song for its images and its references to Salvation in this diversity of pictures and diversity of phrases is meant to encourage a sin to cos Faith rise up in US.
Let me say that reviewing and remembering and perhaps memorizing these ideas of Salvation and Psalm 34 would in itself be a good takeaway for all of us. But especially for those who are in the midst of difficulties glorious beautiful picture of God salvation. But then again as we talked about David salvation, and is he encourages Israel talking to them and giving them images about God salvation What About Us? What about Asana here in the now? What does salvation look like for us? Well, we need to understand that there is an emphasis in the Old Testament an emphasis on emphasis on salvation that focuses on God's temp Coral salvation mean salvation right here and right now in the context I'm living in. but also in an external salvation save me from my enemies save me from this famine save me from this difficulty. I'm going through its external things the Old Testament focuses on those things. And in the background there is also the picture and the understanding that there is an internal and future and eternal salvation as well. But it's focuses on the Here and Now David talks about in the song about the the conflict he had in the danger. He was facing in regards to a bit alike.
And talking about the enemies that are surrounding them. But in the New Testament, we need to understand that the emphasis is reversed. The New Testament is still concerned about salvation in the context that we live in. But it's much more focused not an external salvation removal from all our troubles an answer to all our prayers. It's focused on a internal salvation on a future salvation.
And we see that again in a fusions to until I talk to you about infusions to where Paul lays out why we need salvation. We are dead in our sin work. We're following the devil. We are children of Wrath. We're separated from Christ where stranger to God's promises. We have no hope because we're without God That's Ephesians 2 in the first couple verses and towards the end, but Stuck in the Middle. Paul laser what's salvation looks like for us. Verses 4 through 10 and verse 13 he writes but God being rich in Mercy because of the great love with which he loved us even when we were dead in our trespasses. Made us alive together with Christ by Grace you have been saved and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the Heavenly places in Christ Jesus. So that in the coming age is he might show the immeasurable Riches of his grace and kindness toward us in Christ Jesus for by Grace. You have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing it is the gift of God not a result of work so that no one may boast for we are his workmanship created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them and then in verse 13 But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ. That's what salvation looks like for us. It looks like being made alive together with Christ. It looks like being with him and being in him. It looks like immeasurable Riches of Grace and kindness towards us. It means being brought near by the blood of Christ. And so we need to understand this morning as we consider David's Psalm of celebration of the Salvation of God in his car for his people to join him and praising him in and being obedient. We need to understand that we need salvation. We need to understand the Christ accomplished our Salvation even as we celebrated this morning at the Lord's table. We Avail ourselves of that great salvation by repenting of our sin and putting our faith in the son of God. That's what are salvation looks like.
David needed to be saved the Israelites needed to be saved. We need to be saved David in this song talks about what salvation look like for him and what it which would and could look like for the Israelites and we discussed with salvation looks like for us and then in this song David indicates, there is a response to Salvation. There is a response to Salvation and the first response is praise. The proper response to Salvation is praise.
And we can taste and see the goodness of God As We Praise Him David Wright's and verses 1 through 3. I Will Bless The Lord at all times his praise shall continually be in my mouth. My soul makes its boast in the Lord let the humble here and be glad o magnify the Lord with me and let us exalt his name together Davis has praised at all times was to be in his mouth 24/7 365 praise for the Salvation that God worked.
when I was in grade 3 it wasn't a praise of God that was in my mouth. It was cursing. When I was in grade 3 I would swear a mean streak and I got caught at school swearing. Southside of portable a grade 3 teacher had the window open and heard me swearing sent me to the principal's office. Now get this specially you younger people. The principal sat me down and he pulled a wooden case out from under his desk. It was very ceremonial. Made a big deal of it and then open it.
It was a strap their leather strap does even sitting on felt.
Like I think there's a lot to be said for the strap actually, but putting it on felt with a little bit much. And he picked it up and he showed me. You said don't ever let me hear you swear again. Nuff said problem solved didn't get the strap but it was shown to me was a three-year-old swearing cursing vile language was in my mouth all the time. But David calls his people to have mouse that are continually speaking the Praises of God and encourages people to boast to boast in the Lord. This idea of boasting combines two things that it combines an overflowing. Joy for what one possesses presently your current situation, but also an overflowing Joy because of the prospects which are coming your way.
I think the Clippers fans would probably be boasting this week.
They have something in their possession. That's pretty good.

We'll see but boasting is that idea of an overflowing Joy because of what you experienced and what you expect to experience and Israel is encouraged to do these things. Partially David tells them to magnify the Lord and to exalt his name that word magnify comes from the root word of something that is big or great and we are to speak into sing into showed of God's goodness and his good deeds and such a way that people see how big and how great he is but a means to magnify the Lord When you think of magnifying the Lord you can think of magnification but don't think of a microscope. David's not talking about taking something small and making it look big. Cousin fact his God is the biggest thing there is don't think the microscope think of a telescope think of magnification that allows you to see the bigness of the universe in a way that's conceivable to Hermione.
Let people see how great and how big God Is So to exalt the Lord is to elevate him. We are to speak of God and sing of God and showed of God in such a way so that his reputation is elevated. That's our mission here at West London Alliance Church making known the greatness of God. That's what David is calling his people to praise the proper response to our Salvation But Not Just Praise obedience as well. The proper response to Salvation is obedience and through obedience. We taste and see the goodness of God David exhorts his people in verse 9 and 10 fear the lord you his Saints for those of you who fear Him have no lack the Young Lions suffer one want and hunger, but those who seek the Lord lack, no good thing. This call to fear the lord is a call to obedience Devotion to God. We see it and 11 through 14, will children. Listen to me. I will teach you the fear of the Lord what man is there who desires life and loves many days that he may say good keep your tongue from evil and your lips from speaking deceit Turn Away From Evil and do good seek peace and pursue it. These are marks of a God-fearing woman or a God-fearing man. They can proceed be seen in the words and the Deeds do those words and deeds conform to God's will do they conform to scripture do they conform to the example that Christ was for us?
And there's a reason in the song for obedience. There's a reason David calls his people not only to praise God in response to the Salvation but to live obedient Lies We read it in 50. the eyes of the Lord are toward the righteous and his ear to store the cry, but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil. To cut off the memory of them from the Earth. He says many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers them out of them all. But Affliction will slay the wicked and those who hate righteousness or sorry those who hate righteousness will be condemned.
The reason he's calling them to obedience. Because in somewhere in some fashion there salvation depends on that. Which again leads us to a question about ourselves this morning? Is our ultimate future salvation a reward for our obedience. Absolutely not. There is a sense in which the entire Old Testament is a demonstration that man cannot earn salvation through his words or through his deeds.
The whole Old Testament points to that no matter how good someone's Deeds are no matter how pure their words are they will never be good enough by works. No man, shall be saved. Salvation has always been by grace through faith. It is a gift. It's a gift that Christ or through us through his words and through his work as one that we can't Merit ourselves. So how are salvation in obedience connected? What do we take away from the song that's called to be obedient?
Obedience isn't for salvation, but from salvation. Let me say that again obedience isn't for salvation, but from salvation.
What's the time zone we're dealing with a passage in the Old Testament. Here's a little trick that will help you maybe understand it and it's not always the case that it works. But in this case, it does look in the New Testament to see if a new testament author has quoted the passage you're considering and if you look in your Bibles ours off and cross-references beside the the little verse the little letters and you can look on the margins of the bottom and it'll tell you maybe somewhere in the New Testament where New Testament author refer to that Old Testament scripture that's helpful to understand if we can do that with this passage from 34th, particularly the section about obedience. It comes up and 1st Peter 3 verses 8 through 12. Let me read that for you. Peter writes finally all of you have Unity of mine sympathy brotherly love a tender heart and a humble mind do not repay evil for evil or revealing for a violin on the contrary bless for to this. You were called that you may obtain a blessing for and they quote Psalm 34:4. Whoever desires to love life and see good day. Let him keep his tongue from evil and his lips from speaking deceit let them turn away from Evil and do good. Let him seek peace and pursue it for the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous and his ears are open to the prayer. But the face of the Lord is against those who do evil Mitchell Peter sticks in in his letter in his epistle. He sticks in this call for obedience. The quote Psalm 34 to call God's people to righteous obedience even aside from that quote of Psalm 34 looking 1st Peter chapter 1 verse 14, he tells his people is his people to not be conformed to are their former lust and verse 15. He says be holy and all your behavior and verse 16. He says quoting God in Leviticus. You shall be holy for I am Holy It chapter 2 verses 11 nieces abstain from all fleshly lust in chapter 2 verse 12. He says keep your behavior, excellent 1st Peter continually calling people to obedience. Aside from those aside from those General commands of obedience. In the first two and a half chapters of 1st Peter. There are more than 30 commands to speak and to act and to think in a Godly manner that the Epistles full of them. These are all extra tatian's to obedience obedience matters and that's why he quotes this song Because obedience matters obedience as a response to salvation, but understand this. Before this onslaught of commands and imperatives on how to act in a Godly manner. That's not what Peter starts with. Peter starts the letter with a greeting and then he says there's some verses 3 to 5 of chapter one blessed be the God and father of our Lord Jesus Christ. According to his great Mercy. He has caused us to be born again to a Living Hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead to an inheritance that is imperishable undefiled and unfading kept in heaven for you who by God's power are being guarded through faith for salvation ready to be revealed in the last time Peter doesn't start with obedience. He doesn't say you need to hold back so that you can be safe. No, he starts with the Salvation rot in Jesus Christ by God, and he says as a result of the Salvation that you have in Christ Jesus. Why can obedience walk in obedience obedience is from salvation? Not for salvation. Let me finish this morning with three applications. First let me exhort and encourage you to taste and see the Lord is good. What is what does he mean by pasting? I'll tell you what. He doesn't mean he doesn't mean what you see your children. Do when you ask them to taste something. They don't want to eat. They get the smallest most minoot little piece of whatever it is and just touch it to the tip of their tongue. Nope. Don't like it. I like you didn't taste that. No, I think of like Baskin-Robbins like we're going to give you a little spoon. I'm going to scoop out and get a good taste that I just see if the ice cream is what you want to see means to realize by experience and keep in mind we taste and see his goodness through faith and I was thinking about this ideas tasting in and seeing the goodness of God this week. I went to go visit my mother-in-law. My mother-in-law is in a nursing home. Now that she has suffered several strokes and has deteriorated quite a bit in the last year-and-a-half. The same nursing home. My Nana was in and whenever we used to go and visit my nana, we always had to bring a cappuccino from Tim Hortons French vanilla, but I'd be made with half decaf coffee. And we would take that to her and you just she would enjoy it so much. She would taste it and I was thinking about that as I was going to visit my mother-in-law of Ruth. Unfortunately, I couldn't get anything for Ruth to taste because she can't swallow anymore. She has no control over that and so she's too fat. I was thinking she doesn't taste anything anymore. I mean the faculties I assume still work, but she doesn't get to and yet, you know what even though she's lost perhaps her ability to paste food. She hasn't stopped tasting and seeing that the Lord is good. She's she's quite or unresponsive when you visit with her. You can talk about a lot of things talk about how your day went. Up Taco what's going on in the family and very likely you won't get a reaction. But she always reacts when you talk to her of God this week. When I visit her. I told her Moses of how you started your sermon how you said that you would be the first Moses to stutter. I got a laugh out of her. And if you play her him or if I tell her what my sermons on the tears come out in the smiles there by my mom was visiting her I think yesterday and prayed for Ruth family, which would be my wife's family for about 15 minutes. My mom told me she kept peeking to see if Ruth was still with her falling asleep. And she said every time my mom will tenderize a roof was staring right at her. And then after 15 minutes of prayer, my mom said amen. It's a truth was out too long. And she said the only word she said on the visit know it wasn't too long. She hasn't lost that ability to taste and see that the Lord is good Peg Patterson. One of our congregation who is with the Lord now her vision was going but every Sunday she'd show up and tell you how good her. God was. Tell me a crude you taste and see the goodness of the Lord in particular seniors. Let me speak to you. If you are at an age where many of your senses are going to be deteriorating. Can't see so well anymore can't hear so well any more. Maybe your touch is starting to go?
Let me encourage you even as Ruth and its Peg did never never stop tasting and seeing the goodness of the Lord.
second application
Obey, let's be people who in response to the great salvation that Jesus Christ has worked in our behalf. Let's be people who obey you know in our Danny Thomas and we speak so highly of freedom. Let us understand that you're always obeying someone or something. No one is free from being obedient to something. We read in Romans 2 verse 8, but for those who are self-seeking and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, there will be wrath and fury. There's not I can either obey God or I can do what I want. That's not the way it works. You're going to obey one thing or another you either. Obey God or you obey unrighteousness.
But let's be people who obeyed Paul in Philippians chapter 2 verses 12 and 13 rights therefore my beloved as you have always obeyed. So now not only is in my presence but much more in my absence work out. Your own salvation obedience is a working out of the Salvation we have already received. So let's be people who obey and finally lets be a people who praise God. Exuberantly lavishly artfully to do that this morning. We have backload. It's wrote the summer so that we do much more singing at the end of service. Then we will do at the beginning and that's purposeful so that we can respond to God's songbook by singing praise to him. It's one minute we're going to do that and let's do that sincerely and let's do that exuberantly because of the great salvation that we ourselves of experience Calvin John Calvin. The great reformer said that he said if by one benefit alone God leads us under obligation to himself all our life so that we may never lawfully seized from setting forth his Praises. So, says by one benefit pick anyone any benefit that God has given you you didn't deserve and anyone benefit anyone blessing that he is giving you makes you obligated to praise him for your entire life, says even though that is true how much more when he heaps upon us and measurable blessing people. We aren't a group that is gathered here together who have experienced one or two blessings from God each one of us have experience in measurable salvation from God. How much more should we be people who continually praise him? Let's pray.
Father God we thank you for your word. We thank you for this book of Psalms. Pray father God that you would help us.
Help those of us who have never. Availed ourselves of the Salvation of Christ has offered held them Father God to see the glory in the beauty of the Gospel of Jesus turn from their sin and put their trust in their faith and your great son ever experienced. Salvation. I pray that you would help us to be obedient. Then we would take that great salvation and from that we would walk in obedience to you. That would be the motivation for obedience in the power for our obedience.
And father God that we would be people of Praise Praises would continually be on our mouth. Father God because you have been good to us.
We have tasted and we have seen the goodness of God and salvation.
You seen a taste of this morning as we took the bread and we took the cop and we remembered Christ death that he died in our place that our sins might be forgiven that we might be reconciled to God that we might have eternal life. Help us to be people of Praise. I pray this in Christ name. Amen.
